Winds in the East
I wanted to create a Mary Poppins piece, the idea was to create a kite flying scene with Mary Poppins flying off in the background. The center kite is Jane and Micheal's kite from the film, the birds are a reference to "Feed the Birds" and I've given the kites, strings, bows, kite tails and clouds a heavy grunge pastel effect (a modern day nod to Burt's pastel paintings from the film)
When I originally finished this I found that it had quite a bit off dead space, with calling it "Winds in the East" I then included a design to represent the wind. if you look closely you can see that the wind is wrapping itself around some of the kites.
