Fully I was moved to finish these with the DUTP Winx Collab announcement AND some critical videos of the new Winx reboot popping up on my YT feed (didn’t watch them, but it was a gentle reminder of just how much I do not vibe with modern Winx)
These girls look so good (imo)! I had a bit of trouble really seeing the reflective material of their witch looks when coloring them. I followed the notes in the Winx art book and for some reason I could see the material as reflective until I put ALL the highlights on, it was an interesting experience
Characters sheets here ⬇️⬇️⬇️ but just like with the fairies, and three specialists, I’ll be posting their individual sheets and bios every Friday 🙂↕️
Method of earning: the witch immerses herself in meditation and allows negativity to overwhelm her completely. If the witch can resist the temptations and find a way out of her consciousness, she earned Tenebrix. If she fails, a mentor pulls her out, and if no mentor is nearby, she is overwhelmed by madness, which can only be quelled with Enchantix pollen
So I've been posting my redesigns and I just realized that I haven't even posted the ones I did first Enchantix! So here they are
If ur familiar with my redesigns you know that I cannot stick to redesigns for this form at all so these are subject to change lol 😭 but I wanted to match the show version of Enchantix while also bringing my ideas and vibe to it! I think Aisha and Tecna are the best of the bunch but I'd love to hear u guys opinions n ideas
(also I added the little drawing of Bloom using her powers at the end and yes I traced the dragon from a screenshot of the show it was too hard to do alone 😭)
What if she became the leader of Winx instead of Bloom?
If we imagine that the leader of the Winx Club had been not Bloom, but Stella the world of Magix would have shone in an entirely different way.
Stella was never just the “Fairy of the Sun and Moon.” She has always carried a royal posture, an inner pride, and that natural confidence that doesn’t need to be proven. If she had become the leader of the Winx, the team would have gained a different rhythm from the very beginning brighter, more emotional, yet surprisingly cohesive.
Stella - Princess Stella of the kingdom of Solaria is no stranger to leadership. She grew up surrounded by palace intrigues, diplomacy, and expectations. Unlike the impulsive Bloom, Stella would lead through charisma and warmth. She wouldn’t assert authority through pressure she would inspire through radiance.
In her version, the Winx would feel more like a family than just a team of heroines. Stella loves being the center of attention, but she loves sharing that light even more. She would organize team evenings, insist everyone dress up even before a battle (“If we’re saving the world we’re doing it beautifully!”), and somehow that would lift everyone’s spirits.
Under her leadership, the Winx would become more confident in themselves. Stella knows how to see beauty in others she would highlight Aisha’s strength and grace, Flora’s elegance and quiet resilience, Tecna’s brilliance of mind, Musa’s emotional depth. She would never let any of them doubt themselves for too long.
And most importantly that she would learn responsibility faster. Because leadership would change her.
Stella often seems carefree, but behind her love for fashion lies a fear of being rejected. If she became leader, she would have to face that fear directly. She would cry in secret after difficult decisions. Worry if someone got hurt. Fear disappointing her friends. And that is exactly what would make her a true queen.
Battles under her command would look different. Stella’s light is not only warmth it is blinding power. She would use her solar magic as a symbol of hope. In the darkest moments, she would be the one to lift everyone’s spirits with words like:
“If the sun returns every day after the night we will make it too.”
Her leadership style would be emotional. She might flare up. She might get hurt. But she would never leave anyone alone. Stella is the one who hugs you after a fight, who brings hot tea, who sits beside you in silence.
And perhaps in this version of the story, Bloom would become her right hand fire and sun, impulse and light, passion and radiance. Their duet would be legendary. Not rivalry, but balance.
Leader-Stella would create a world where beauty is not seen as superficial. Where fashion is a form of self-expression, not frivolity. Where strength can be bright, loud, and shining.
She would study diplomacy, build connections between realms, try not to repeat her parents’ mistakes. Perhaps by becoming a leader, she would also become the ruler she always dreamed of being for Solaria not a cold queen, but the sunny heart of her people.
And on the hardest days, when darkness gathers thickly, she would step forward, hair glowing in golden light, and say:
TWO PROOFS OF THE FACT THAT WITCHES ARE CANONCALLY GOOD
first:
from @winxwiki post. here is their translation (i slightly edited it):
Cloudtower knows and researches evil: it (the school) takes advantage of the enormous energy to take it over and replace it, taking its disruptive force.
Both schools (alfea and cloud tower) fight for the same end but in very different ways.
It means that they fight evil by controlling it rather than destroying it
second: (from s2ep16)
Unfortunately in the english dub she says otherwise:
which is a school where witches use magic to be destructive rather than do good
This is shameful! Cinelume dub is a mess in fact im making a compilation of most of their errors through season 2, which is the least faithful to the original dub.
in general think about it. witches are mostly never opponents of the winx, just in season 1 and season 6 (those girls were freshmen manipulated by the trix). In the rest of the cases they help the winx or are neutral (or get controlled). Ms. Griffin herself is a good person who likes to make pranks to the fairies, that's all.
This is one of the designs I was debating making into a fairy, but I kinda love her as a witch! I would love to include her into my story, so a possible love interest?? She seems too kind to be evil - but what do I know
I think id call her Hazel, she would be a little scared of cats, even if they like her
I have so many thoughts about what makes the witches different from fairys, but I might make a separate post about it - there's so many races that just don't get described in the show (elves, nymphs, paladin, sorcerers) that I can't just not write a essay on it
