Before I start, sorry about not posting much about the rewrite, I have the story down in my head but I can’t figure out how to get it down and what to turn it into because I wanna do SOMETHING with it (if you have any requests/advice I’m happy to hear)
Randomly (like an hour ago) I thought of an AU idea I’m thinking of calling “Kicked princess”
The basics is that Turbo doesn’t “go Turbo” but still gets roadblasters unplugged but does it in a way that both his game and him are fine.
After Sugar Rush gets plugged in, Vanellope gets kicked out for some reason (thinking going against the code in some way) and Turbo (who’s still plugged in) along with the Twins take her in.
She doesn’t get to be apart of the game but she is still allowed to race during closing, it’s sort of a slice-of-life type thing that (knowing me) could turn into a sort of physiologic horror somehow
I’m big on that type of stuff lol
Hopefully this is interesting since if people like it I’ll share what I can when I think about it
(Also I’ll try to get the rewrite down and post about it since people still really like it)
The first 2 chapters are together for a better start, later chapters will probably be individually released
Some rules from the original WiR movie might have been tweaked slightly or specified in this AU, they will be explained/explored in later chapters
Also, I would not consider myself a writer but it feels easier to write things out rather than fully draw them
I got the idea by reading KillSwitch (by @king-candybug-backup) to not do this story in a fleshed out comic but more in a fan-fiction manner with illustrations, so thanks for that :]
So now, enjoy!

Chapter 1 : birthday cake frosting
"Ah! Litwak's arcade..
This awesome place has blown its 35th birthday candles recently!
But today, there's another set of candles that are gonna get blown out
Today's my game's 20th anniversary!
Yeah I know, big milestone!
Even if I've only been racing for 5 of them because of..unfortunate reasons..
These were the best 5 years of my life!
- Hey Vanellope, who are you talking to?"
Taffyta interrupts Vanellope,
She was talking alone while filling her plate with sweets and snacks from the buffet set up for Sugar Rush's anniversary.
The entire castle was decorated with banners and balloons, music was playing, every Sugar Rush racers were there, along with guest from other games like PacMan and the ghosts, Sonic, some of the Nice Landers and others.
"- Oh! No one, just trying to come up with a cool speech for later!
- Ah alright, hey by the way, where are the others?
- You mean Ralph, Felix and Calhoun?
They said they wouldn't miss the party for the world, bet they'll be here any minute now!"
Right as she finished her sentence, a Hero's duty pod could be heard flying towards the castle.
It landed near the entrance, and the 3 guests got down from the ship and went inside.
Vanellope gasped, "There they are!"
She exclaimed, as soon as they went through the big doors of the castle, Vanellope ran over to her friends and jump into Ralph's arms
"Hey kid! Happy anniversary!"
Ralph congratulated Vanellope as he gave her big hug,
He then set Vanellope back down.
"20 years already, careful, princess you're getting vintage" Calhoun playfully said to Vanellope
"Aw come on! joking at our age now? how dare you Cal'!"
she replied lightheartedly.
"Besides, I haven't even been a playable character for half that long!
I can't really say I'm a 'vintage' part of the game..."
Vanellope's smile almost vanished, her gaze now pointing to the ground,
Her friends noticed
"Hey there kiddo! it's okay now! you've got nothin' to worry about anymore!"
Felix reassuringly called out, putting a hand on her shoulder
"yeah, there's no way another filthy, rotten sicko is gonna take over your game, nor anyone else's ever again, not on my watch"
Calhoun followed
"I know that it's over and that I'm back in my rightful place as Sugar Rush's ruler but..
Those 15 years I spent being denied my title.. it's been most of my life and..
It's almost weird to be who I'm supposed to be after so long, it's better of course!
But every time I think about it I just think.. what if Ralph never came to Sugar Rush? What if I didn't get the medal to pay my entry in the race? I'd still be.. a glitch, stuck in my game with someone stealing my place, unable to do anything about it... How could anybody do that to someone..?"
Vanellope explained, saddened by these thoughts
"Kid..." Ralph said as he knelt in front of her
"Turbo was a horrible person.. Someone who would've done anything to get what they wanted, even if that would irreversibly damaged the persons in his way..
It wasn't your fault, but he is gone now. You're safe from him, the entire arcade is!
So we shouldn't let him ruin your games anniversary! Enjoy it so much he'd roll in his grave at the sight of how happy you are back in your place!"
Vanellope snuffed at Ralph's words, she smiled again
"Alright..let's celebrate then! come on! you've got to try the macaroons!"
The night went on, the four friends had greeted the other guests, tasted lots of appetizers, and all had fun at the party
Vanellope made her special anniversary speech, and went back to chatting with her friends.
After a little while, Vanellope brought up a certain topic to their conversation
"Hey, have you seen the new labels Litwak has been putting up on some of the arcade cabinets?
-Oh yeah! I've heard PacMan's game got one, what does it say?" Felix asked
"I read it while at Tapper's the other day, It said;
Hello! I am an arcade game that's been here for a long time, please handle me with care, if I freeze or stutter, call Mr.Litwak and he'll fix the issue!" Ralph recited
"Aw, cute, that's understandable, PacMan's been here since the opening of the Arcade, that's what 35 years of service does to ya" Calhoun responded,
"Surprised you and Ralph don't have one yet" she followed teasingly at Felix
He laughed, "Well, we're lucky our cabinet doesn't have any malfunctions yet!
It's inevitable at some point, but it's safe to say that Litwak has been taking excellent care of us throughout the years! I'm sure we can rest easy for a while!" Felix lightheartedly declared
"Well, let's raise our glass and toast to future years in the arcade!" Ralph declared as he raised his glass, looking comically small in his giant hand.
They all did the same, and continued to enjoy the party practically all night.
Meanwhile, Mr.Litwak was in his office, giving a phone call.
"..and when can you bring it to the arcade?
..in about a week? Ah okay, I'll see you then sir!"
He then hung up the phone, took his coat and keys and left, turning off all the lights behind him
"Can't wait for the cabinet to arrive, kids'll love it!"
with a smile across his face, he closed down the arcade and got in his car to drive back home

Chapter 2 : plugged back
A week went by, everything felt like usual, everyone was working their arcade shift
When a truck parked in front of the arcade.
Mr.Litwak went to greet the driver on the parking lot, some characters noticed something was happening, Litwak later came back into the arcade with a big rectangular box on a trolley, covered in a big blanket.
He moved two cabinets to put the delivery in between.
It drew the attention of a couple kids at the arcade, one of them went up to Litwak.
"Is that a new game Mr.Litwak?" They ask curiously.
"You could say that yes, but it's not just any game.
-Really? what is it then!" the kid said getting more excited.
"Ah, it's a surprise, But I'll say, it's a retro game, you kids seem to like these recently!"
He patted the kids head and giggled, then dropped off the covered cabinet right next to Ralph's and PacMan's.
When the day was over and the arcade was closed, everyone gathered to the plug where the new game would be plugged at any moment now.
A crowd was forming, everyone was anticipating what this newcomer was going to be
Vanellope and her friends were in the crowd
"What do you think it's gonna be? I'd love for it be another racing game, to have new racers friends to compete with!" Vanellope exclaimed full of enthusiasm.
"How about a fighting game, or even an e-sports kinda game?" Calhoun suggested.
"Hmm, keep in mind Litwak said it was a retro game, so it might be from around the 80s!" Felix added
"I wouldn't mind having more classics friends in the lineup of games honestly!" Ralph exclaimed
The suspense was palpable in Central station.
Mr.Litwak finally was ready to plug the new game in.
"Alright, let's do this.." He announced to himself
He removed the blanket off of it, particles of dust flew around the air, he then knelt down and reached out to the cord
"Ah! There you are" he grabbed the wire and plugged it in.
He sigh thoughtfully "Welcome back.." as he patted the cabinet affectionately.
The name was loading up..
In big red letters, above the entrance, the following words could now be read, slowly revealing itself letter by letter;
"Welcome to :
T U R B O T I M E"
A collective gasp could be heard throughout the crowd, a deafening silence had set in the central station, the lighthearted predictions quickly turned into worries and gossip.
Vanellope's heart dropped.
Her friends immediately brought their attention on her, but before they could say anything, a wagon could be heard entering the station, three people were riding it, they rushed out of the train, excited to greet the other arcade members
but stopped abruptly at the cheer number of people standing in front of the game's entrance.
The trio were all too familiar to long time arcade characters, one in particular caught everyone's attention.
"Uh..hi! We're um..from the new game..! I'm Crash, and this is my twin brother Dash!" He said gesturing towards the other racer.
"And that's.." Crash stopped and looked at the infamous racer,
They were expecting the cocky, self-absorbed racer from all the way back then, but to everyone's surprise, he appeared shy and reserved, hiding behind his two colleagues.
his colleague whispered to him;
"Hey Turb', are you alright?
-I mean..I didn't think there'd be that much people..!
-Well we're in an arcade, what'd you expect" He said as he tried to pull his friend from behind his brother.
"And that's Turbo! The main racer of our game!
-..Hello.." Turbo greeted quietly, unsure of himself.
Everyone stayed dead silent, the ambiance was heavy.
After what felt like forever, Surge protector stepped in and tried to put everyone at ease.
"A-alright people, nothing more to see here, welcome to our uh..newcomers and now, everyone get back to your normal activities..!" He announced as casually as he could.
the crowd slowly dissolved, the newcomers were left puzzled.
"Hey uh- wait! can you tell us more about the arcade?" One of the twins called out to Surge protector, but he had zapped before he could finished.
The three racers tried a couple more times to get anyone's attention, but no one wanted to confront Turbo nor the Twins.
"Did- we do something wrong..or?
-I don't know? Doesn't feel like it??" the Twins exchanged.
They stood awkwardly in front of their game, lost and confused.
Vanellope and her friends were trying to process the events that just took place.
"I- This- can't be real" Vanellope said in utter disbelief, glitching ever so slightly.
"What are the chances..out of all retro game Litwak could've pick..!"
No one even conceived this would've happened, all were at a lost here.
Felix was looking at the three rookies, thoughtfully.
"Well..that isn't really Turbo.." Felix said to his friends.
They turned to him, slightly confused.
"I mean it is Turbo, but not the old one! Ralph, do you remember at the start of the arcade? Turbo was a rather nice fellow!
-Well yeah, but not for long! He kinda turned into a jerk when he became the favorite game in the arcade!" Ralph pointed out.
"Exactly! What if, we just start over and keep him on the good side! I mean, TurboTime isn't the most modern arcade game anymore, maybe this time around it'll be different!"
Felix tried to convince the group, the opinions were mixed to say the least.
Vanellope was not convinced, having no knowledge on Turbo's history other than the 15 years he spent stealing her throne.
Ralph wanted to trust Felix, but the dreadful fight he had with him on the cola mountain was making all of this hard to swallow.
Calhoun sighed, "If you say so honey... I trust you, but know this."
She knelt in front of her husband, one hand on his shoulder.
"If he tries anything, and I mean anything, just once..."
she glared at Turbo.
"I'll take care of him.." she said bitterly while cracking her knuckles.
"I understand love.." Felix replied.
He made his way to the trio of racers, Calhoun followed shortly after.
Ralph looked at Vanellope.
"Hey kid..you uh..want to try it out..?"
Vanellope stayed perplex, it was true that this wasn't the same Turbo that took over her game, he was dead, but his face was engraved in her mind, she couldn't get the memory of Turbo almost killing her right then and there on her own track.
She led out a long sighed.
"I don't know Ralph..maybe..maybe I should try to get over it and not stigmatize this new Turbo for something he didn't even do but..it still feels bad, y'know?"
She blipped, looking at Ralph with worry in her round hazel eyes.
"Alright kid, let's say, you try your best, and if it ever gets to much, you can tell us and you'll be excused! And like Calhoun said, there is no way he's trying anything shady, we got our eyes on 'em!"
Ralph said to try and cheer up Vanellope.
"I'll try" she said with her apprehension barely leaving her voice.
Felix approached the TurboTime racers and greeted them.
"Hello there, new colleagues!
-Ah! Hello! we were starting to think no one was gonna help us with getting to know more about the arcade and such, heh heh.. Um, what's your name?" Dash asked.
"Why I'm Fix-it Felix jr, from Fix-it Felix jr " Felix reached out a hand, Dash went and shook it,
"How convenient! Only one name to remember! I'm Dash" He laughed, Crash came to greet Felix as well, "And I'm Crash, nice meeting you!"
Turbo shook Felix's hand quietly, then went back to the side timidly.
The twins did most of the talking, asked things like when the arcade was opening and closing and maybe what extra rules there might be
When the conversation was about done, Turbo apprehensively came up to Felix and asked;
"Say..we didn't do anything wrong, did we? You..seemed to not like us very much.."
Felix froze, he couldn't tell them right off gate that another Turbo almost destroyed the entire arcade, plus committed other major crimes which included ruining a poor little girl's life for 15 years.
"Uuh- No! not at all we just- we were all too polite to, you know, swarm you all at once with energetic welcomes! But don't worry! We'll make up for it! We'll.."
Felix was trying to come up with a way to fix up the unfortunate lack of welcoming gestures that new characters would usually have...
As he panicked, he came up with something on the spot.
"We'll invite you for dinner in our game! How's that?"
Calhoun looked at Felix with much surprise in her eyes, the Twins and Turbo though, seemed to lighten up a bit, happy to finally have some sort of warm welcome.
"That'd be amazing! You said your game's Fix-it Felix Jr? So, guess we'll meet you there then?"
The twins then turned to Turbo, who seemed to have slightly opened up to the offering.
"You feel like joining in Turb'?" one of the twins asked.
"..Yeah, that'd be sweet!" The twins lit up even more, Crash grabbed Turbo by the arm and rushed to find Felix's game, full of excitement.
Calhoun turned to Felix.
"Honey. I love you. but sometimes, you're too nice for you're own good."
Felix laughed nervously, "Guess we'll be having guests over for dinner..?" He said as he started walking up to his game's entrance.
Felix almost immediately regretted his invitation.
He just hoped it wouldn't be the start of a looong evening..
(Doesn’t abandon her game but does learn more about who she was meant to be)
After learning her role in her game and who took it over, she grows bored of the same tracks and same rivals along with the boring responsibilities she has to take over <— summary I made for no reason
(These are recolours like the cybug, ignore the hand)
I feel like they didn’t do anything with the fact she randomly became a princess/president and had to take over King Candy/Turbo’s responsibilities (which he stole from her) so I did stuff with it.
She likes finally being able to race with all the others, and not being terrorised constantly, but all the responsibilities and the hard-to-move-in dress takes a lot out of it, to the point where she’s just bored.
And what’s worse is that there’s always way too many players, all because of king candy which only makes her feel worse!
it isn’t until Ralph disappears one night and makes her a new track did something change, a broken wheel.
She doesn’t leave her game but she learns more about how she originally was programmed and gets to lock a reseted Turbo in the fungeon :3
Also she’d actually wear her in game racing uniform but I wanted to post it before I did the recolour for some reason
Hey guys! It's my first post here so I'm still trying to figure out this place.
