Tonight's pin is the limited edition Disney DSF King Candy Wreck-It Ralph Sugar Rush Part 5 Train Pin Set LE400.
This pin is my favorite out of the entire train set, and if you guess that it's because of the little Turbo appearance you would be absolutely right. You can find tons of pins and merchendise with King Candy, but not really much of Turbo which I think is something Disney really missed out on cause even though his true form had such a small amount of screen time, Turbo still made a pretty good impression and a cool villain.

Tonights pin is the limited edition Disney DSF Vanellope Wreck-It Ralph Sugar Rush Part 1 Train Pin Set LE400.
Now I don't believe there was a train in the movie or in concept art, but I'm willing to believe that there is one somewhere in Sugar Rush. Maybe Beard Papa's brother or something drives it to transport materials to the kart bakery or something. It's a nice thought, and it's a even nicer one if the Sugar Rush Racers were allowed to ride in it every once in a while they weren't racing. Personally, I think Candlehead and Rancis would like those rides the most.
I can’t believe it’s been 3 years to the day (Nov. 11, 2012) since I first saw Wreck-It Ralph. I remember being cautiously optimistic – as a lover of video games, I knew the history that medium has with film – but this movie surpassed even the highest expectations I’d had! The whole atmospheres of the game worlds and arcade were built with such precise attention to detail, and you can tell the creators genuinely love video games; the movie doesn’t do that cheap “let’s just throw around some fancy vidya game words without context to look cool for the young people” thing that many other video game-related films are guilty of doing. The writing and natural-sounding voice acting with improv (thanks for the idea, John C. Reilly!) is a big plus as well, obviously. As some of the reviews had said, WIR has the perfect blend of action, comedy, and heart – there wasn’t any part of this film where I wasn’t curious and engaged in what was happening. It’s rare for a movie to make me feel, and I know I’m not alone in having some heavy-duty feels about this adventure.
I always appreciated that the characters, especially the Core Four, didn’t fall into lazy stereotypes. Ralph is clumsy, yet articulate and thoughtful about what’s going on in his life, rather than being the bumbling fool. Felix isn’t made to fit the overused trope of the good guy who’s secretly a jerk in contrast to the nice “bad guy”; he’s genuinely kind but was just oblivious due to lacking any frames of reference for the whole situation. Calhoun didn’t get the “uncaring tough female” package, she actually is judicious in her use of force and cares about the people she protects. (Not to mention that Hero’s Cuties actually demonstrates Felix knowing when to step back rather than pestering Calhoun into dating him, and Tammy doesn’t unrealistically jump right into things, given her backstory – I’m glad their wedding was in an epilogue implied to have happened quite some time after the movie’s events.) And Vanellope wasn’t relegated to the token one-dimensional “annoying kid appeal” character, instead getting to have her own journey of character development on the same level as Ralph. Everyone has their flaws, and these are all addressed and resolved fittingly.
Wreck-It Ralph will always be special to me for these and many more reasons, and I look forward to more news about the sequel – I hope we get to learn more about these fellas and their world. (Also I’m still holding out for a Calhoun plushie, so there’s that. Make it happen, merch people!) May Ralph and friends live on, down at Litwak’s Arcade – I can always spare a quarter for these guys.

You know, you’d expect her to have one of those red, white, and blue rocket pops instead of a ice cream cone, though I guess she could see it as eating a mini version of her kart.
I put on the Wreck-It Ralph soundtrack for my ride home from work today in celebration of the movie's 3rd anniversary, it was really nice! I have a lot of feelings for this movie but I'll officially post about it on Nov. 11, since that's my personal 3rd anniversary of the day I first saw it. Until then, keep wreckin'!
