#witch dreams

So I’ve been thinking about getting into ancestral work for a while now but I never understood how the fck I’m supposed to interact with these spirits I’ve never met, y’know? Especially being black and having a lot of ancestors erased from physical knowledge, I just didn’t understand how I could even connect to them without knowing their energy or names for that matter.

Then I had a dream last night. So to preface, before going to sleep my fiancé and I talked for like 3 hours and we went deep and in retrospect, we did a lot of shadow work. So when we went to sleep I had some incredibly vivid dreams and dreamt about having a family reunion but with people I didn’t know. This one woman came to talked to me and she looked like this YouTuber I just started watching (she’s this beautiful black bruja named Mint) and I immediately knew that she my family but deeeeep down the line, like great, great, great, great, great grandmother and gave off crone vibes. I’m not sure it’s safe to tell y’all what she said but it wasn’t good. Regardless, I am so happy that I finally connected with an ancestor!

Now to get to work on what she told me 🥴

I dreamt of the trees. I was the energy flowing through them, darting up from the mossy ground through the roots. I race across the trunk, through the branches, into blossoming leaves. They are green, they are brown, they fall in a blanket. I fall. I land upon the sleeping body of my child. He is safe and warm, nestled against the tree. Midgard holds us and we are at peace.

Sometimes i have to wonder about my dreams. Last night what really stood out to me was something I said.

Baby witch diary - Dreams

My dreams are usually pretty much ordinary and don’t feel like something connected with my witch experience but this night I definitely had a very interesting dream! I already wrote about it in my grimoire but wanted to share here.

I quite often have a dream where I go by the stairs to my flat but then near my floor, the stairs are broken and I can’t really get to my door. So, in the dream, I have to climb and so on. It is not a nightmare but I just feel bad after I wake up, This time it was a similar dream but different! The stairs were sealed after the third floor but I just kept moving and destroyed the ‘ceiling’. And after that, I again met broken stairs, so I had to climb. But I saw something on my hands and wrists, like black marks or lines and they got brighter when I tried harder. And inside my dream, I knew they are helping me to get to the door and I did it! Without usual panic and anxiety inside the dream. Then I said something like “Yeah, I already got used to it” and woke up! 

Even after I woke up, I didn’t feel bad or anxious as I usually do after dreams like that. On the contrary, I felt more enthusiastic about the day and the problems I have to deal with. And I also felt that it totally has something to do with my witchery and that I just had to write it into my grimoire as fast as I can.

So my dream last night was interesting. My significant other and I were a duo that helps souls who are stuck adjust to modern living which is ironic knowing he himself is stuck in the 80s......Anyways there was one soul caught in some kind of booth in an old building like a private school with appeared to have Demeter on it but he was “looking for where the wheat grew and grapes were ripe and music and laughter were heard. Where everyone was merry.” (Dionysus?) Anyways we helped him out and pointed him to the direction he was headed to (somehow). I don’t know.

Well my dreams never cease to surprise me..

So I (unfortunately at times) dream just about every night and extremely vividly, to the point it feels real. Last night I dreamt I was standing in front of a mirror. The person staring back at me was this tall nicely curved woman with black hair. Extremely attractive. She had curves I didn’t have and she looked amazing. Anyway I ended up turning from the mirror and I saw something burr by a dark hallway into like a closet. Now I’m thinking “yeah that’s goes the dream, I should run” but I instead charged at the hallway. Creature popped out of the closest and went at me. I grabbed its wrists and twisted them so it couldn’t run away. I scream (in its face) that this place was mine and he didn’t belong. I was saying I’m the witch here and I *dang* well banish you from this place because I have that right. So yeah interesting....

I dreamt

That my fiancé climbed a ladder all the way to moon to collect moon rocks for me.  Still half asleep, I thanked him for the moon rocks but told him he was stupid for climbing cause he could have fallen (mind you he was half asleep too). He just said “anything for you love” and we both passed back out lolol

Roots of Craft Challenge Day 11

I believe I'll become what I aim to be. Mostly a Sea Witch with other witchcraft tendencies, as discussed in Day 10. I do think I'll always be closeted. But picturing it... I'll be the witch whose house is decorated cutely with ocean themed decorations. Shell centerpieces and hangings, and other decorations. I'll have a small garden of potted plants, probably flowers or easy to grow herbs. I'll have a salt lamp in my room, and protective sigils hidden around out of sight. I'll have a shelf of magic related books mixed in with fictional books as well, easy to have people disregard. I'll have my shell and rock collection in an easily accessible chest. I'll have crystals scattered around for their uses. My cooking will always involve witchcraft. My cosplays will be sewn with intent, maybe even with hidden sigils embedded. Most of my jars will be filled with moon, sea, and rain water. My candles will smell like something ocean related, and their wax will double as a moisturizer. I have one such candle now. I'll have a circle rug somewhere that can be flipped to double as a casting circle. My welcome mat will be enchanted to promote happiness. That's what I picture for me.
