"We've always been four." -水龙吟 Whispers of Fate ep. 39
TOM BENNETT + Vera the canary 🐤
unusual seawing patterns 1 (color edits)
lore reasons for these are as follows:
abyssal seawings. a specific community of the tribe which is a lot less heard of, has their own version of aquatic, and suspected to have their own queen; their scale colors can go from pitch black to very dark blue, or dark grey to silvery scales with extreme sheen, also very dark red or brown; their bioluminescent scales can glow brighter than other seawings, as well as different colors like red and green. in this first picture we see an abyssal dweller with specifically very dark blue-green scales and almost transparent membranes on their wings, crest and among their fingers
coralline coloration. there are seawings who carry a gene meant to make their scales manifest brighter colors than just blue or green; colors like orange, yellow, very bright green or almost neon blue, bright red, and so on. the angelfish scale variation is one of the most established, lionfish is the rarest. in the image you see an angelfish variation: intense blue scales on the head, neck and spine, with green and yellow scales meshed together to create very bright shades of bright lime over the seafoam scales covering the rest of the body
striped color scheme. this kind of color scheme can bring forth colorations like in the third image, with pitch black scales and grey-white scales acting as accents, adorning areas like the snout, neck, limbs, wings, and crest in alternate fashion (sometimes even surrounding all the bioluminescent scales like some sort of contour, which is not shown here). this is one of the variations of the color scheme where the black scales are most prominent. it is also pretty rare
i credit joy ang for the bases lineart, i only colored the bases getting inspired by real fish
do tell me if you have any ideas for future colorings you want to see!
I was rereading the hidden kingdom gn and then I saw this and I couldn't resist...
Fixed AGTTDW Maps
Since in “A Guide To The Dragon World”, the maps of each continent are significantly widened to account for the 2 page spread, I used the original maps to edit the digitized versions of the map back into the (mostly) correct widths. Pyrrhia here is pretty much perfect, and Pantala is as close as I could’ve gotten.
No need to credit me; this was a pretty easy edit.
i dont usually post my edits here but i thought this one was cool enough for tumblr
Been doing some comic overdraws. I think that’s what they’re called but basically putting my oc over the ones in the comic which a few other ocs from my friends. I’ll be showing them off here.
