The widow and four-year-old son of murdered British Army drummer Lee Rigby lay flowers at his newly unveiled memorial. Rigby was attacked and killed on the streets of Woolwich in 2013 by Islamic extremists.

The attack on the French soldier on May 25 came just three days after British soldier Drummer Lee Rigby was hacked to death in broad daylight by two men in Woolwich, a district of southeast London. The slaying is believed to have been in retaliation for UK military involvement in Muslim countries.

I'm still scratching my head as to why this and the Woolwich murder are being treated as terrorist acts. Even with premeditation, these acts are so self-contained and specific. But that's the issue with labeling terrorism whatever we don't like or agree with, which seems to be the case for both of these incidents.

This is why I will always be a bit in love with Russell Brand. Such an incredibly articulate, astute and sensitive response to the nonsensical inflammatory words and actions that have surfaced since the Woolwich murder.

shout out to all the british muslims who have been attacked and persecuted mercilessly this last week by certain right-wing groups and who have handled it all with tact and grace and patience that they absolutely do not need to give anyone because the woolwich murder was committed by a group of extremists that are as disassociated from mainstream islam as the westboro baptist church is from mainstream christianity.

So my brother couldn't go into work this morning because a man was murdered right outside the shop he works at, then we here the news that another was attacked near London bridge...love how we're being told to go about our business as usual when we cant even go out without being attacked.

So I'd just like to point out all the 'helpers' in this crisis...

In amongst all the racism, the islamaphobia, the murder, the attacks, the riots - despite all the bullshit going around at the moment, here's some things to remind yourself of:

Two women fearlessly walked right up to the wounded/dead soldier, despite standing only a few metres away from his killers, who were still wielding weapons in their blooded hands, because they didn't want him to have to die alone.

Sikhs, Muslims and Christians alike have all rallied together and prayed for the victim, his family, and all unanimously condemned the

A Muslim walked into his local Mosque that very evening, wearing a 'Help for Heroes' t-shirt, in honour of the fallen soldier

The perpetrators of the Mosque attacks have already been arrested and charged, and the government has officially stated a zero tolerance attitude towards any racial backlash of this incident

Right after this solider was killed for wearing a 'Help for Heroes' hoodie, the H4H website crashed because there was such a huge influx in online purchases and donations...
