Words to Kill || Maige

Paige’s steps through the hallways of Radley were numb. They dragged along with a heavy burden carried on them. Her path was clear, straight to Malcolm’s room, where only a brief week ago she’d shared something so special with the boy. Now, her mission was to crush his heart. Now, her mission was to tear him to shreds.

Stopping just outside his closed door, Paige looked down at her feet and swallowed thickly past the lump in her throat. She wished things could be different, wished she had the balls to test out just how much Matthew was really able to get away with. But courage wasn’t her strong suit - not when Malcolm’s life was the one on the line...

Raising her shaking hand to Malcolm’s door, she balled it into a small fist and knocked. She hadn’t meant to knock so hard, but perhaps it was her nerves getting the best of her. Her fist fell hard and quick a few times on the wood, knuckles stinging slightly as she pulled her hand back to rest at her side. It shook still.

Please, please, please... she thought to herself as she waited for the blonde boy to open his door, let him understand... let him love me anyways...
