For this moment, this one moment, we are together. I press you to me. Come, pain, feed on me. Bury your fangs in my flesh. Tear me asunder. I sob, I sob.

“Where are your parents?” “We don’t have parents,” Apollo lied and also didn’t lie. His shoulders squared around the sudden truth and falseness of this statement. It seemed to fit him evenly, the duality of what he’d suddenly shifted into. Henri paused, if only to close the journal tenderly, then grinned, though not at the twins. He was looking at the tall one, the one with hair like the moon. “That’s the problem with Gods, isn’t it? Spend their lives warring with one another, and the children are left to done the discarded pieces of trauma.”

i found a blue coat among the half grey twist in the sand where you left. yeah you left it just there twisted into shards of glass, little bits of driftwood, you probably wanted me. to find it there, didn't you, bring it back, folded probably. always wanted your little pieces, didn't you? folded, neat, stacked like, whatever. you wanted it. that's what matters, you wanted me. to give it to you, no bring it to you, present it to you, gift it back as if i'd been the one. to steal it first.
