Require employers to give employees breaks
I’m sharing this again because I am still continuing this fight - I’ve just had a lot going on and I’m actually in the process of organizing my workplace, so unfortunately this petition took a back seat for a moment.
Your employer is not required to give you a break in most states. They should be. It’s messed up.

How I retaliated against workplace harassment and why you should too
I don't know who needs to hear this but here's how you deal with a boss that has a personal problem with you that will never be expressed in an adult way.
First, understand that HR is not your friend. When your boss is harassing you, HR exists to protect the company from you, the victim of harassment. If HR says or does something that makes you feel a little uncomfortable, like wanting to mediate a grievance where you did nothing wrong, you need to get a lawyer immediately. HR will act like your friend, but they're not. If you need a friend, your lawyer can be your friend. Tell them everything.
Second, don't doubt yourself. If your grievance escalates to court, you want to be defending statements to HR like "My boss has a personal problem with me that is undeserved" not "I don't know what it is, I think that I offended my boss and they're retaliating."
Third, "I don't want to cause a problem." Delete that shit from your vocabulary. The problem found you, either escelate or let this person chip away at pieces of your soul until you can't handle it anymore. Moreover, if you let them do it to you, they will do it to someone else. It's a moral imperative to resist them.
Fourth, take a personal day to cope with the harassment your boss is giving you. Tell HR that's what you're doing. Do it after they cross a line. Not only is it good for you, it looks great in court records. If you time this just right you can get your boss fired. I did so after mine spread rumours about my sexual activity, and it made what I did next hit that much harder.
Fifth, the nuclear option. In Australia it's "I have made so many reports about this person's behavior, she has crossed a line that made an impact on my mental health. If she is still employed by end of day, I am making a complaint to the Fair Work Comission and the AHRC." Do not do this unless you intend to quit and sue the company should your demand not be met. This is about the closest thing you can get to fighting words with HR, and many of them will take it as an explicit threat.
Finally, if you need to go through all this effort to go without being harassed at work? You should definitely quit, because if HR has failed you that hard, it's time to think maybe it's not just your boss that's the problem.
If you did everything right, they'll be wanting to talk about an out of court settlement before you even talk to your lawyer. But definitely invite your lawyer to thst conversation.
So, I was working for a company I cannot talk about because of NDA.

Anyway one of our sites shut down because we spent a whole week cleaning for one of our clients coming to do an inspection. The client walked in to see our freshly swept and polished floors, our acetone polished windows, a fresh layer of paint on all the walls. All our tools nice and organised, and the clients inspector said "What the fuck, why is it so clean? Do you people do any fucking work here?" And the contract was cancelled.
By the way I told them this would happen.
So they "temporarily, for a few months" ship me off to a new work site. They fired anyone that wasn't salaried. But I got shipped off to a worksite 2 hours away. I was pissed. More than that the supervisor there decides "Oh new workers. Great. They can do everything while my team stares at them like the kids in Village of the Damned."
So, this goes on a few days and then we run out of gloves. The supervisor wants me to work without gloves while handling sharp objects and chemicals. I tell him I'm not going to do that and if he asks me to do it again I want two copies of the order in writing, one copy for evidence when WorkSafe (Australian OSHA) gets involved and one copy for toilet paper. And I still won't do it.
He tells me that I'm doing it and if I don't like it I can leave and never come back. So I said "You don't realise how you just fucked yourself, do you?" He says "Are you stupid?" And I just walk away laughing.
See here's the problem. In my time working at this company I had not received a single written warning, had not taken a sick day, and was full time and salaried. There is no worker harder to fire.
So I knew one of two things was gonna happen. Either he'd have to explain why he fired an employee with a spotless record, or he was smart enough to figure out he couldn't fire me and I would just collect my salary and do nothing.
And collect a free salary I did. For a month.
I got a call today, it was a higher up in the company asking "Where the fuck are you?" I explained that supervisor fired me a month ago.
He sounded pissed but I'm fine, I already have another job.

Australian Government increases post-study work rights for international students
Great news! The Australian Government has recently announced a boost in post-study work rights for international students.
According to a recent joint media release with the Hon Jason Clare MP, the the Australian Government has announced that it will increase the duration of post-study work rights of international students to strengthen the pipeline of skilled labour.
Post-study work rights for select degrees in areas of verified skill shortages will be increased from
2 years to 4 years for select bachelor’s degrees;
3 years to 5 years for select master’s degrees; and
4 years to 6 years for select PhDs.
