Any other chronically ills desperately wanting the pandemic to be over but anxious about how they’re going to cope when we go back to “normal” life?
Confession #5,493
I have chronic pain and chrons disease which gives me a different chronic pain and frequent bathroom trips.
the nature of my disease means that I will have to be hospitalized whenever I have a flare up, which is all but certain in my lifetime as I’m only 23.
the medications that I will have to take leave me immune compromised, and I may not be able to work or be around large groups of people at all when I am on them.
despite all of this, I see myself as not disabled because that term should be saved for people who are “really disabled”, and I feel that don’t have it bad enough to use that word
Confession #5,547
I got a diagnosis for hypothyroidism. I was very excited to have an answer and that it was something that could be treated easily. Finally it felt like a chance for a normal life, when i felt so sick i felt like i could die. But now my insurance won’t help. I can’t even get coverage to see a PCP. Every doctor they set me up with is someone that cant help me because they’re an ER doctor only or a specialist. The one time they got it right he turned out to be a transphobe and dropped me.
The worst part is the stress this is putting on my boyfriend. We mean the world to each other and though we’ve only been together almost five months, it really feels like hes the one im going to spend the rest of my life with. But its hard seeing me like this, hes mentally ill like me and the stress of taking care of me on top of taking care of himself is more than he’s letting on. He hates when I talk this way but I’ve never seen him cry more than when my symptoms got so bad I couldn’t work. We were both so happy that it was over but as it turns out it isn’t. I really have the worst luck. Everything I do is always like this. I didn’t sign up for this. He certainly didn’t know what he was getting into. I finally found someone who gave me peace, everything finally felt right, and now I can’t even get out of bed, and my heart won’t even beat at a normal rhythm, and im so cold.
its not in my nature to give up, so i won’t, but this is just. very unfair.

fatigue is not the same as laziness. i want to do things. i want to be active, have a social life, work, and be creative but i cant do all of those things. i have to sacrifice a ton of them in order to function. dancing for just 5 minutes makes me feel like im going to pass out even though i do it every day. i used to be able to do it for 15 or 30. im not a social butterfly but i want to meet people. but i cant cuz i need to rest. i want to be responsible but i physically dont have the option to
Confession #5,524
I’m having to jump through a bunch of hoops in order to get accommodations at work so that i can actually work successfully. But jumping through those hoops is so mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausting that I’m running out of energy to both jump and work, and instead I feel like I’m just failing at everything.
Confession #5,497
I'm so fed up about this sick body. The doctors don't find anything, my employer is also running out of patience and I really wouldn't mind, when a bus runs over me. Or better an accident without other people. The bus driver can't help it, I don't want to harm anyone else. I am so angry!
Confession #5,472
I just got a job and I'm so excited! We are 7 in my family and I feel the need to help (as well, I do want to buy some stuff for myself and go visit my girlfriend). My illness is giving me some trouble atm to arrive on time, but my boss doesn't mind since I'm doing a good job
Confession #5,352
Anxiety and rejection sensitive dysphoria are crazy. Today I was feeling pretty good about my work, and then I got a written warning about being late two days ago. Which I was. It was a fair tardy slip. I deserved the punishment. But I immediately went from feeling confident about how well I’m doing at work to worrying about getting fired. I’m irrationally paranoid that my boss dislikes me now and he’s avoiding my emails on purpose to punish me.
