World Spine Day is an annual healthcare event observed every year on 16 October, intending to promote the importance of spine health and educate people to understand the seriousness of spine health, which is one of the single most common reasons for disability on the planet.
Every year on 16 October, various health organizations and concerned communities around the world unite to organize various campaigns and activities on the importance of physical activities, proper posture for long-term back health and injury prevention at various local levels to educate and encourage people to participate in learning and practising to keep the spine healthy.

History of World Spine Day (WSD)
World Spine Day (WSD) was first observed on 16 October 2008, organised by the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) with the intention to provide a global platform to raise awareness about spine disorders and their management and appeal to others to join in the noble cause to bring effectiveness in the promotions.
World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC), with the association of more than 800 concerned official organisations globally, organises various campaigns and activities to promote spine health. For the first time World spine day was observed with the theme in the year 2012, with the theme “Straighten Up and Move" and since then World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) comes up with specific theme to mark the day.
