ppl can be so off-putting & strange & entitled 😭 if you scroll through any interactive fiction dev blog there’s always drama. i will never understand why anyone would go out of their way to leave an anonymous ask informing an author you are “giving up” on their game because of x y or z. it’s always a hissy fit about things not going how they expected. IF specifically emboldens people because they see MC as theirs. newsflash: participating in a character’s development through a set of prewritten options thanks to the nature of the genre does not make that character your creation. they’re still a part of someone else’s art, someone else’s brainchild. authors owe you nothing. hope this helps 🙏🏼

I love programming. It feels like the closest i can get to magic, studying so that bit by bit, i can write a system into existence that will do anything at all if I can just think how to encode it

Although a multiple Emmy winner (he also shared the award for best comedy series), Levy said he hasn’t had many acting opportunities cross his desk post Schitt’s Creek, and he believes that’s because they just don’t exist for gay actors. For that reason, he is writing his own.

“You just realize that the parts aren’t there, in the same way that straight parts are there for straight actors,” he said. “So all I’m trying to do now with the opportunities that I’ve had, with the success that I’ve had, is to continue to write interesting queer stories for queer characters and do my part to hopefully fill the space with opportunities so that actors can be hired.”

Dan has said this in many interviews and in many different ways, but I think it’s worth revisiting.  You can’t wait for the world to hand you your dream.  You have to go out and make your dream- even if that means writing your own show.
