Elpam is the second moon of Esrevinu and is the largest in size, roughly almost 3/4th the size of Esrevinu. Made habitable by the year 453RE, Elpam is home to a large portion of the Noisulli population. Its position in the green belt and perfect distance from the Major Artificial Sol allows for life to flourish here and to keep temperatures somewhat consistent. With the addition of Aniram’s Minor Artificial Sol, Elpam developed an atmosphere and naturally allowed for life to flourish without the means of artificial intervention using Iolaria technology. Due to being tidal locked with Esrevinu, one side of the moon always faces the dual artificial suns. This has divided Elpam into two hemispheres, the warm and cold faces of Elpam known as Remmus and Retniw respectively. Thanks to the power of Iolaria and the life-promoting artificial suns, Elpam’s environment is a never ending flow of natural resources for all Noisulli of all homelands, with many of its natural resources respawning in just a matter of 72 hours. Resident Noisulli here, known as the Ecitslos branch, are required to use their resources as much as possible to avoid overgrowth, making Elpam the largest provider of exports.
Elpam is divided into two territories with a newly added third one, Rotauqe Elpam, which acts as the overseeing Elpam government system and a border between these two territories. Elpam’s light side, known as Remmus Elpam, is covered in super massive overgrown greenery and foliage with the skies being hidden behind a forest canopy. With the skies nearly impossible to see, weather changes nearly go undetected. The air on Remmus Elpam is very humid and dense. With this humid air full of plant spores and pollen, the skies are always tinted an eerie yellow-green. Faint rumbling of thunder can be heard everywhere on a daily basis, along with the hum of the winds passing through the forests. The landscape consists of giant exposed roots, rocky canyons with steep drops, and poisonous fungi-like plants, making the terrain very dangerous to walk on by foot. Machines for travel here are required to cover long distances, though many residents here opt-out leaving their homeland. The majority of plant life on Remmus Elpam are bio-synthetic due to the introduction of Iolaria nanotechnology to the environment, and do not act as real plants. They are more similar to that of rock formations, but still convert the air into breathable air in a form of photosynthesis. Many species of the foliage here fall apart easily and are extremely fragile to the slightest touch or breeze. However these plants grow back to their full size within a few short days.
Remmus Elpam’s national emblem consists of a forward slash, and is the same orientation given to Remmus Elpam-born high ranking Creator Program members. The design represents their moon’s warm face. It also resembles that of a leaf. Surrounding its insignia are fifty stripes, each representing a Creator Program member. As of 1440RE, there have been fifty of these stripes and it has not been redesigned since then. As of the year 2245 RE at the end of the GEN08 Creator Program testing period, four of these slots are colored in to represent Remmus Elpam’s four Creator Program members of the current generation they entered into the testing program at the start of the cloning of the new generation of leaders. On the outer perimeter of the emblem is the universal Noisulli mission statement “I function for my Intelligence”.
Throughout Elpam’s history there have been many conflicts and battles amongst the Ecitslos Noisulli, and their turmoil rarely ceases for long. One of the oldest conflicts between Elpam’s two hemispheres is the debate of the creation of an artificial sun surrounding Elpam. This idea was proposed about a millennium after the creation of the Minor Artificial Sun surrounding Aniram. The idea of creating an artificial sun around Elpam would mean that both hemispheres flourished in life. Currently Remmus Elpam is the only side to have foliage and a temperate climate, one perfect for Noisulli inhabitants. While Retniw Elpam is cold, barren, and roughly the same as Citcra terrain-wise, making it hard to create a way of life there that doesn’t rely solely on survival skills. Creating this artificial sun would warm up the dark side of Elpam and would also provide heat and light to Citcra, making it more habitable as well. Retniw Ecitslos Noisulli however over time have begun to embrace their culture of living in the arctic, and also fear of the flooding that would occur as their ice melts. This would result in them having to abandon their homes and travel to higher ground, which is only located in Remmus Elpam. Bringing in sunlight would also cause them to lose their Retniw Ecitslos Iolaria traits that naturally occur because of the colder climate, such as their darker primary bodily coloration, duller hued secondary bodily coloration, and many of their unique Iolaria formations that occur only on Retniw Elpam. This constant debate has created borders and national boundaries over the centuries, and is still valid to this day.
Remmus Ecitslos Noisulli generally do not leave their birth place to pursue new living environments. It’s extremely common to see someone live their entire life from birth to death in the exact same city or home, rarely ever seeing the world outside of it. Despite this, their homes are located in or very close to megacities that feature anything and everything one would ever need within it, making it unnecessary to travel. Those who live on Retniw Elpam are more willing to travel, and are almost required to for survival. By GEN11 of the Creator Program, many Elpam-born Noisulli have begun to leave and abandoned Elpam altogether, in favor of a more free homeworld after the recent conflicts between the two hemispheres.
Most of Elpam’s major cities are commonly named after gemstones and minerals, a few of the most populated ones being:
..........Dnomaid, a city known for its significantly raised minimum wages and other high paying jobs, being one of the only few to feature such a high pay rate in comparison to other cities. This drastic difference in pay has caused others to suddenly abandon their hometowns to try and obtain a job here, leading to overpopulation and inflation.
..........Dlareme, a densely forested and generally overcast community that resides close to water landmarks. it’s one of the only locations that has foliage strong enough to build homes and businesses on, similar to that of tree houses.
..........Elbram, an ancient city and one of the first to ever exist on Remmus Elpam. It was the initial home of the Ecitslos Noisulli after Elpam became a habitable homeland. Pods where the original Ecitslos first resided in during their exploration of the moon still remain, as well as their gardens created to attempt to grow produce on Elpam, which was highly successful. Elbram was also the original home of the Creator Program base located on Elpam, until it was recently moved closer to the Rotauqe border. Elbram is known as one of Elpam’s greatest wonders of their world.
..........Naenarretbus, the location of the current Remmus Elpam Creator Program. Built almost entirely underground and featuring fifty underground levels of vaults, this site known as a doomsday preparation facility stores the genetic material of all living creatures and foliage that has ever existed. Naenarretbus is not a city in of itself where residents can live, but it does feature some assigned housing for employees who work in these vaults. The area that houses the actual Creator Program is located on the last ten levels of the facility, and is strictly off-limits to civilians. Naenarretbus is connected to its Retniw Creator Program equivalent, Raelcunbus, by the border gateway Naidirem, and is the only connection that both of Elpam’s hemispheres have with each other.
Since many of their plant life are known to be poisonous or fungi-like, Remmus Ecitslos Noisulli rely on their native fauna for nutritional sustenance, making them primarily meat-eaters. The rare amounts of edible plants are expensive and elusive to those who don’t live nearby it. Aniram is known to donate their oversized aquatic plant life to Elpam to provide them a leafy diet, and vice versa.
Elpam is known as the least technologically advanced Noisulli homeworld, but only just slightly less. Due to their solitary lifestyles, exports from other homeworlds are not evenly divided between Elpam cities and take a longer time to disperse. Some cities obtain new technology faster than others, making those who don’t receive these goods stuck with their nearly obsolete devices until their new supplies are transported to them. They also have limited connection to Esrevinu and the other homeworlds, making them slower on obtaining any news or updates about them. Elpam generally remains apart and self-sufficient from Esrevinu, and follows their own set of rules and regulations. Elpam is known to have the largest government system, and ranks similarly in power of that of the Creator Program.
A homeworld-wide event takes place on Elpam every two years, known as the Redeecxe races. Multiple teams consisting of seven Noisulli each coming from all homeworlds gather here with their racing machines to compete for the fame and money. These races vary from small distances relying on speed, to circling around the equator of Elpam twice, relying on preparation and strategy. During the long distance races, racers travel along Remmus Elpam’s rough terrain and mountain ranges and along Retniw Elpam’s frozen wastelands and solid ice lakes, and must have vehicles that can handle and survive both major climates. Long distance races are harder to monitor against cheating and are known to be extremely violent. However the more dangerous the race, the more thrilled the audience is. For the first time in Redeecxe history, a Creator Program member widely known as GEN11’s second Successor Ralos Eralf joined one of the teams during her ten year civilian leave, sponsoring and single-handedly creating a huge booming interest in the races once again.
Remmus Elpam, along with any other homeworld bathed in eternal daylight, are known to use colored smoke during their celebrations and festivals. Normal fireworks would not appear in their skies, so using deeply pigmented and powerful smoke bombs can create a daytime variation of fireworks. These are only legal to use in Remmus Elpam, and not on Esrevinu or Aniram, due to the fact that Elpam does not have an artificial sun surrounding it, trapping the smoke. They are illegal in Aniram and Esrevinu as it can easily cause pollution and smog to develop, harming the health of the residents due to inadequate ventilation.
RESIDENTS OF REMMUS ELPAM
Natives to this side of the moon are referred to as the Remmus Ecitslos Noisulli branch, and are known as the “gatherers” of the Noisulli race. Ecitslos Noisulli in general account for almost 50% of the Noisulli population, making them the most predominate and common Noisulli ethnicity. The Ecitslos have built their cities all over the moon, but predominately around the meridian of Elpam, where both of the environment extremes meet. This area is easier to reside in physically as the forests are less dense and the terrain is more flat, but the wind and weather is unpredictable. Those living on the Remmus hemisphere are well adapted to a more extreme climate regarding weather and terrain.
The signature appearance of all Ecitslos Noisulli is their false elongated head. This is known as the Shelf Iolaria formation, and creates lightweight hard ridges on their back of their skull to resemble that of tree bark, fungi, or flowers buds. These structures can be covered in thin muscle and skin, or left completely exposed. The Remmus Shelf Iolaria formation is the most elaborate in how many layers it creates and is oriented curving upward along the back of the head, unlike the Retniw Ecitslos who feature less Shelf Iolaria layers that are more downward facing.
Ecitslos Noisulli are also known for their Shard Iolaria formations that act as a replacement for a functioning tail. These formations can appear in feather or leaf-like shapes, or can form as thin crystalline columns. The overall layout of these shards can be in a bird tail-like formation to even a pinecone-like formation. Rough 65% of the Ecitslos Noisulli population features the Shard Iolaria formation, which grows around a stump of their “real tail”, connected to it via small and sometimes moveable muscles. Shard Iolaria is flexible and is closely related to that of a bird’s feathers, but slightly thicker and more the texture of a thin blade of stone. Shard Iolaria makes light humming and chime sounds when the host walks, so to avoid being heard, it’s very common for an Ecitslos Noisulli to elaborately wrap and bind their tail Shards using a fabric to muffle them. This is also used as a formal fashion statement at times as well. The length of one’s Shards can sometimes be perceived as a status of beauty or royalty, with longer ones on either gender being viewed as more desirable.
Remmus Ecitslos Noisulli feature a more vivid coloration than their Retniw Ecitslos neighbors, typically ranging from bright reds/pinks to teal-greens in their markings. They tend to feature colors and markings that match what is found in nature as a form of camouflage, though the skill is unneeded in their civilized environment. The Lanretni Iolaria system in a Noisulli will try to adapt to the surrounding environment, but in rarer cases due to a malfunction in their programming, a Remmus Ecitslos Noisulli who has never lived on Retniw Elpam can feature a blue, purple or monochromatic color scheme. Most if not all Remmus Ecitslos Noisulli have a base, or primary, body color of off-white to light grey. They range in many body shapes, from being tall and muscular to petite and bird-like. The Remmus Ecitslos are generally taller than the Retniw Ecitslos. Ecitslos Noisulli from both faces of the moon tend to feature a very prominent nose bridge, and have an overall longer facial structure with heavy eyelids.
The Remmus Ecitslos in particular speak in quieter dialects of Esrever, and are generally more soft spoken. This is to reserve their breath due to the extreme humidity, making it hard to breathe. Some long term residents of the warmer half of Elpam have developed oversized lungs to counteract losing their breath quickly. This in return gives them their wider chests and broad shoulders, a feature common in both male and female Elpam residents.
REMMUS ELPAM CREATOR PROGRAM BASE
Located within the Remmus Elpam capital of Naenarretbus is the Remmus Elpam Creator Program base, home to the third in command Creator and their Successor. It is known for its partially subterranean design and its fifty levels of highly secured vaults, storing genetic samples, seeds, and frozen specimens of all and any living creature that exists or once existed during the reign of the original and reborn Noisulli races. In using these samples, the Noisulli are able to reproduce and clone any needed food or material resource that is not already naturally spawned by the Iolaria system that controls the homeworld environments.
While the first forty levels may be toured by civilians, the other ten levels are closed off and reserved for the Creator Program members and for scientists who partake in genetic testing and alteration. Testing usually consists of introducing deactivated Iolaria into animals and plant life to grant them immunity and protection under the treaty the Iolarian and Noisulli share, as the Iolaria nanotechnology self-replicates through devouring lifeforms. This allows these lifeforms a standing chance at long-term survival rather than being stunted in growth and devoured, and for them to adapt and evolve better in their Iolaria-dominate environment.
The Creator and their Successor who live here are not usually involved in this kind of testing. They are responsible for the monitoring and managing the Civilian Programs located on Remmus Elpam that birth new Noisulli. But if the need arises, they are trained and skilled in modification of Iolaria of lifeforms other than the Noisulli, and know how to remove the Iolaria program entirely out of a living being in the midst of a complication.
Over in Retniw Elpam’s Creator Program located in Raelcunbus, genetic testing is also done and is an expansion on the labs located on Remmus Elpam’s Creator Program. This is the only direct communication and connection that the Remmus and Retniw hemispheres have with each other aside from Nadeem and the Rotauqe Elpam border.
