Stolas and Stella are fond of discreet, gentle touching - preening, hand holding, pressing their feet together under tables - even in public. Stolas wants to be even more affectionate, often veering into lewd territory, but he's just so content to have her near. He prefers when she preens him because he thinks she's more thorough, but he especially loves preening her until her feathers gleam such a pure white, she surely doesn't look like a fallen angel. They hold themselves and each other to high beauty standards, but mostly it's about care and touch and intimacy. Stolas definitely cried the first time Stella let him preen her after everything.
Stolas grows special, pink flowers for Stella in a greenhouse on their property. Even when things between them were bad, he maintained the greenhouse and as they healed their relationship, gifted her with bouquets and perfumes that were exponentially more beautiful than those he'd given her before.
At some point they take up scrapbooking, wanting to give Via back the good memories their family once made together. They quietly, painfully notice their own distance in old family albums, but joyously notice, too, their smiles returning. They take more pictures now than when Octavia was younger. When Octavia is ready to leave the nest, they gift it to her.
They dance together - in the kitchen, at parties, in their bedroom(s) - and they dance well. Stolas has a particular love for waltzing with Stella - the closeness! The romance! The intimacy! - while Stella prefers a tango - the drama! The display of strength! The violence and passion! Secretly, though, their favorite dances are done in the privacy of their home - ornate, ritualistic dances that would be considered lewd in polite society. Especially when Stolas dances for Stella. (nsfw: 1 2 3). They put other couples to shame at parties.
Stella and Stolas get involved with the other's specialties - Stella gets Stolas to spar with her; Stolas gets Stella to join him in the garden; Stella tests her cooking out on Stolas; Stolas teaches Stella a few spells. Sometimes, they pursue independent interests, side by side, in the quiet of the Goetias' library.
Stolas made a constellation of his wife in the night sky for their thousandth anniversary.
Stolas enjoys watching Stella eviscerate people - literally and figuratively - but he honestly loves watching how his fearsome warrior of wife can be so gentle with children. He doesn't realize that's something she, in turn, admires about him. They once wanted a larger family and perhaps, in time, will want to expand their brood once more, with Octavia's blessing.
Stella's sweet tooth inspires Stolas to try to learn to bake. He is not good at it. He can follow a recipe but if he's not using magic, the desserts fall flat. Needless to say, he infuses any baked goods he makes with so much magic, not only to help taste but to improve Stella's day - a minor, angelic blessing that he shouldn't still be practicing in Hell, but, what can he say? He's never been one to follow all the rules.
