“Anything?” If Merlin could use his magic, he could do some damage to the pirate hunters, with a lot less casualties on the pirates’ side.

Merlin looked at Jesúsa. She looked so sad laying on the deck, all pale and blood-covered. Not like her typical defiant self at all. So, if she, the one person who had been so very kind to him, wanted him to give them hell, he would do it.

“I will.”

By now the deck was slick with a mixture of water and blood. Merlin nearly fell as he stood up. The ship had been through multiple attacks since Merlin was taken prisoner, but this one was by far the worst and now that Merlin was free… well, now he had no excuse not to fight. He grabbed his pistol, leaving one hand free if magic be necessary. As he turned away towards the fight he took one last look at the pirate and shot her a wink.

“Just don’t die on me now.”
