So Donghua is on a seducing mission kekekeke. Just kidding, but he’s definitely trying to please his Xiao Bai. Fengjiu asks him if he has anything urgent, she’s probably worried to see he’s already beack - but happy too. And the answer to that question is, yes, which is sending a gift to you. A flower crown which says: you are mine only. He’s really about the candy and even ate all of Moye’s share already. She takes him to play all around, since he had nobody to take him out when he was younger. But why is she treating him like a kid? I know she wants to make him experience all what he did when he WAS a kid, but still... For a powerful - and arrogant - immortal like that to be treated this way... Well, I guess he loves her very much to accept that. While shopping in town, Donghua notices that Miao Luo is lurking around in the dark. Such an annoying lady. Go away. Fengjiu feels bad for not having recognized him earlier and she’s happy that he cares for her like that, even though she really doesn’t understand what triggered the change in Donghua and in his attitude towards her. Love Fengjiu, that’s all about looooove! Hahaha.
Moye is tiring from keeping the furnace working all alone and has trouble to keep on making the magical tool all by himself because Donghua left him to go and spoil Fengjiu.
Fengjiu thanks Donghua for coming to see her. She wasn’t in a really good mood because she pities a lot Alanre. Then Donghua tells her not to feel too sad because she’s not Alanre and when they come out of the dream, he’s going to marry her. Wow. That guy isn’t wasting any time. You know her dad won’t want you as her husband right? I can’t imagine Bai Yi being okay cool, you marry my daughter. Totally fine with my son-in-law old enough to be my great-grandfather. It’s not that easy. Donghua isn’t a nobody. Plus, first date properly and don’t treat her like she’s all yours when you made her so many times. Well it wasn’t all of Donghua’s fault since he didn’t know, but still. Then he kisses her and she asks him if she’s not dreaming and if he’s going to forget all of this when they get out of Alanre’s dream and he says he won’t, she doesn’t have to worry about anything. When guys say that, we girls have to worry. Sorry, not sorry.
Some there’s some sort of festival in which girls will through a magic fragrant pouch to the guy they think is cute and then they get a date. Seems to be a little steamy date. All the girls throws their pouch at Donghua and Fengjiu tries to get rid of them, but they are stuck by magic and she’s pouting very much about it. But Donghua consoles her by using his own magic to get rid of all of them. Just... Maio Luo comes out right then and sends him one and then he goes chasing after her, thus leading to Fengjiu thinking he’s flirting with someone else right in front of her. So she’s angry and sad, he just told her he wants to marry her and now he’s leaving her all alone to spend the night with another woman? Nonsense! So she goes back home without waiting for him. As soon as she gets back, Chacha comes to get her because Shen Ye got extremely drunk and is making a scene. Fengjiu stays alone with Shen Ye to deal with this.
He confronts her for not being Alanre. He cries really hard and Fengjiu doesn’t get what he’s talking about.
Donghua wins again against Miao Luo. This is getting boring. Can we skip all those little fights and get to the big final one already?
Fengjiu still takes care of Shenye and tells him that if he really liked Alanre he shouldn’t have been so cold to her and should have told her his feelings. He thought that this he could protect her. Then he’s about to touch her face and jelly territorial Donghua knocks him out. Fengjiu gets angry at Donghua and tells him that he got drunk because he noticed that she’s not Alanre. He doesn’t seem to care that much. She starts crying and says she’d rather stay in the dream than go back to her real life.
Shen Ye wakes up. This time is the last chance to get Alanre’s soul back to life so nothing can go wrong otherwise it all goes to waste
I would like to see a little bit more of the real Alanre. We don’t know anything about her. And even though it’s three world three lives, well it’s only Donghua that has more than one identity. I can’t sat he’s doing an awesome job on acting three different characters, but that’s mostly because the three roles are somewhat similar, but it’s still some extra work that Dilraba Dilmurat doesn’t have to put up with contrary to Gao Weiguang.

Thanks to random Chinese lessons with Admin Ro, I learned today the particular set of characters used to describe Xize as “young man” refers to a guy of 15 - 30 years of age. -quietly eyes casting of ELoD-

Red hem bled even darker as water consumed it, a bounce, no, two followed as she stabilized herself in the river. A gleeful laugh filled the distance between them, black hair shadowed face when she leaned down to bury hands in the cool water.
This was not Aranya. Too light-hearted for the melancholy girl, never one enchanted by the prospect of fishing barehanded as this one was. This was the girl who Aranya might wish to be, carefree, without the worry of having to watch her back under the gaze of family. Xize knew her well, her personality, and could without a doubt say he never set eyes on the young woman within arm’s reach.
She looked like her, but saw no more of her beyond the skin. Even her words still rang in his ears when she asked what he was doing. Aranya would’ve made a joke of it, sat back on a nearby rock and taken in the sun like a snake warming itself.
Instead, she took off her footwear in a flash and practically jumped into the river.
“Who are you?” His eyes narrowed.
“... Aranya.” She looked at him, her own eyes wide and confused. In her hands, a wriggling fish.
“That’s not who you are. Now, who are you?” Said a bit more clear, and he watched the fish escape her grasp back into the water.
“I’m your wife.” Her voice grew softer despite sounding forced to become louder.
Lips curved up in an amused smile. “She never referred to herself as that unless required.”
A childish huff left her, cheeks puffed out as though annoyed with him for having not played prey to her game.
“Am I not cool enough to be Aranya?”
“Not even the slightest.” Xize stepped out from the river, ground firm beneath his feet before he offered a hand to help her.
She took it with a pout, hand cold from the search for fish. “Damnit, I tried really hard.”
“Not hard enough. Too bouncy and excitable.”
Color painted her cheeks a soft pink and mumbled what Xize thought might have been “I am not”.
Once both on solid ground, Xize sat atop a rock and waited to see what else she had to say. A truthful answer, as she already gave away she wasn’t Aranya.
“I brought you mung bean cakes,” she said, picking up what she brought with her. “... We can eat them while I explain.”
He eyed the container then held out a hand, it would make listening to what she had to say more worth it.
Hopefully, this is the right place to ask questions. Do we ever find out what happened to the real Real Xize in the novels? Is he still retired on the mountain? And I guess the show/drama would have an entirely different ending for him. Would he have evacuated the valley with the rest of his tribe or did he stay and die with the royal families?

Real Xize is alive and kicking and in fact still retired in the mountains in the Present, Non-Dream Fanyin Valley Timeline. When Donghua takes Shen Ye and Aranya’s souls and seals them together inside a tree sprout, both in the book and I believe the show, he tells Su Moye to “give it to Xize to plant in Nang Qi Palace.”
Now, in the show, because everyone knew about the seal on the Miaoyi Chasm breaking in advance, the bird tribe evacuated except for the royals (and…they died in the show). I can’t tell you what happens to Real Xize in the drama, except that this hermit of a man either got out and found himself another nice mountain to hermit on, or died chilling in his original hermit mountain.
In the book, however, they were all still living there when Donghua, Feng Jiu and gang were leaving Fanyin Valley. Donghua didn’t figure out the seal was breaking until he was on his way back to Qingqiu after he’d missed his wedding going to save Ji Heng and taken all her poison onto himself. He chose to repair the seal (which would break again in two hundred or so years). Two hundred or so years later, he moved it to Bi Hai Cang Ling (where the starlight ward sequence took place in the book) to purify. Therefore, presumably though the book doesn’t specifically say one way or another, it’s safe to assume that the Bi Yi Bird Tribe - Royals and Real Xize and all - are still alive and kicking in Fanyin Valley at least in the book.
