SON AKA YARNO AKA A
As our project came to an end we decided to make a video for our final presentation. With this video we tried to give an overall impression of what we have found out. Although not every interview and person we talked to was set on camera we ended up with allot of interesting material. The beginning of the video gives a good impression of the district we were given. It shows the diversity of the district, the different cultures and shops next to each other. After that we show parts of the interview with Leendert van Veldhuizen. We spoke to him in the Zimihc Theatre where he is the culture coordinator. He makes sure that creative people are given a spot to perform their creativity. You might say that he forms the bridge between people who want to express their creativity and a place where this creativity can be expressed.
When we went to the Voorstelijke Complex we found out that the Zimihc Theatre had an upcoming play about gentrification of a part in the neighbourhood named Slopera. On the flyer it even sad Community-art so that sparked our interest. That’s when we got in contact with van Veldhuizen. In the video you can see him talk about which kind of people go to the Theatre and who preform there. He talks briefly about how difficult it is to get teenagers to come there. And in the end we spoke about the play Slopera and the gentrification of the neighbourhood.
