Last minute looking for a semi-competitive team!
What is your (first) name and (if you are comfortable sharing) how old are you? My name is Emily! I’m 20 years old.
Where are you located? (Country/continent is fine; state if you’re in the USA) Currently I live in NYC, though I will be in Cleveland, OH for the first two days of the hunt.
How many years have you participated in GISHWHES? I believe this is my fourth year!
What level of priority do you assign GISHWHES? Examples include but are not limited to: Work and School come first; I take off of work to participate; I do what I can in my free time, but I dedicate my entire free time to the scavenger hunt. I do work, but only a couple of hours a day. I’d say my goal is to dedicate most of my free time to the hunt
What is your intended outcome of GISHWHES? Examples include but are not limited to: To bring awareness to a cause, to have a good experience, to make it into the coffee table book/ GHOF, to win. My goal, as always, is to build more confidence in myself through pushing myself outside my comfort zone! I also would love to make it into the coffee table book, since it is the last year. And most of all, to make new friends and have fun!!
Do you have any specific skills/trades that might be especially useful to the hunt (please provide no more then five)? Examples include but are not limited to: Artist, Singer, Musician, Writer, Actor/Actress, access to exotic animals, Robert Downey Jr is my uncle. I am an actor and a singer! I play a bunch of instruments (piano, guitar, uke, violin, flute) and have access to a lot of musician and artist friends. I love writing- I write songs, poems, and scripts. I am a fairly good drawer. I love cosplay and special effects makeup. I’d say one of my biggest assets is the city I live in, since I have access to so many things, and the people I know who have skills of all types and are always willing to lend a hand.
In a team, which do you prefer: 1) stability and leadership through an elected team captain 2) A team, likely with a team captain, in which all group members are engaged in the decision making process 3) Or, a team in which each member is equally responsible for every aspect of the hunt. No leader, laissez faire. Probably number 2! Some level of organization is necessary, but we are a team for a reason and there shouldn’t be too much hierarchy in decision making.
Do you view familiarity with teammates a necessary aspect to a successful hunt? How close do you see yourself being with your future team- hunt only friends, talking regularly outside the hunt, etc.? I would love to get to know the people I am working with! I’m still casual friends on social media with many of my old team mates.
How much of a role do you want to have in the leadership of your future team? Do you want to trust the captain to take care of everything? Want to help out when needed? Just have a say in major team decisions? As I said before, we are a team and people should have as much equal imput as possible.
How important to you is the quality of the items you submit? Does everything have to be perfect, or is quantity your focus? I certainly value quality as well as quantity. I value putting good effort into the items i do and want the quality of the picture to reflect the item.
Do you have examples of past gishwhes items to share? Where can they be found? I can link you to past items if you are interested! Send me a message.
How should interested teams contact you? Message me here on tumblr @i-love-your-light !
Please remember to message the OP and not gishwhesteamfinder if you think this might be the team for you!
