Continued from @bittcrbcrry When Smokey had come up to the more shallow waters for warmth, he had not expected to have been caught in a fishing net. And it seemed the more he struggled to get free, the more his long tail got tangled, leaving him trapped. Oh stars...why did it have to happen to him. He had panicked, but at some point only managed to cute the rope holding him down, leaving the net to flow with the waves. He was sure some bigger predator, or maybe even another merefolk would find him as an easy meal. And as the current carried him, he realised the water was getting shallower and shallower. Oh no. He was going to get beached. Thrashing around wildly, Smokey did everything he could to try and get free, but the ocean did not listen. And when he felt himself beach, the monster tried desperately to get back to the water, where he was safe. He struggled and struggled, choked hisses and clicks of distress making their way out of him. And then he heard something. Oh no no no what if it was a predator? Sure, he was very large for his species, but on land he was defenceless. More distressed noises and thrashing as he tried to get back to his home, but the net around him made it impossible.
