2, 3 & nsfw 3 for your choice of finnpoe or Johnchas!
i'm going to do finnpoe bc again, THEY NEED THE CONTENT.
maybe i'll do johnchas later, they ALSO need the content
2. Who’s the messiest? The cleanest?
oooh this could be interesting. both of them have military backgrounds, kind of even going back to childhood.
like finn obviously didn't have much in terms of personal belongings OR personal space in the FO (like i bet they even told him his uniform/blaster/clothes/bed were PROPERTY OF THE FIRST ORDER and not his) -- plus the FO would probably demand cleanliness and neatness for both control and hygiene reasons. PLUS finn was supposedly like a top recruit and eventual officer material, so he probably followed those kinds of rules to the letter.
poe on the other hand did grow up with more freedom, BUT i also can't picture kes dameron, space marine, being like 'yeah whatever' about poe being messy. i also think just given both kes and shara's democratic leanings combined with their military service, they encouraged poe to be neat by giving them reasons to be that way: like you have to keep your belongings (personal and weapons) in order to be prepared for battle or evacuations, etc. and you don't want to lose track your stuff, so it's important to always have things in a particular place. so it was always kind of poe's choice to be more or less organized, and it's not it's probably not as triggering for him to have an untidy space as it would be for finn due to his conditioning.
(there's also a bit in before the awakening where poe talks about how gross he feels after coming off a mission where he's been in the cockpit for too long -- like about the sweat/electrical wiring smell getting to him and how he can't wait to wash it off. so i think poe is maybe kind of vain in the sense of -- wanting to smell good and clean).
so, let's talk post FO/childhood: for finn, once he's with the Resistance, it's not like he has much more stuff of his own, but he might at least have SOME things (his jacket etc) and his own space (assigned bunk or w/e), and just given that kind of new freedom (bc no one in the Resistance is really going to be on him about like, folding his bed w pristine hospital corners), i think maybe it's part of his adjustment to not care so much about his living space being immaculate and is maybe a little more sloppy, but it's not like a right away thing, it takes him a bit to get that comfortable as he goes through a bit of the teenaged rebellion arc he never got to do when he was an actual teenager (but his blaster is always in tip top shape).
ignoring the spice runner thing, which i always do, i'm assuming poe went from living at home to living at the space navy academy to being in the service, so while he did have his own space, it was at least at first always subject to inspection. so maybe the resistance is the first time HE even really has the freedom to be kind of a mess, but on the other hand bc his neatness isn't due to like, abusive child soldier conditioning, he just kind of keeps it up/doesn't really rebel against it. it might not be his natural inclination -- like w/o his having been in the military so long he probably might've been less concerned -- but given his lifetyle/history he's just kind of used to keeping things in order, and especially in a leadership position he feels like he has to be an example.
so i guess they're both big into cleanliness, and once they're on their own poe is probably neater but he likes that finn is doing his own individualistic thing of being a mess.
3. Who fixes the vehicle after a breakdown?
i think poe can probably fix anything that flies (even if it is with help from bb8) but has no idea how to deal with anything else (like, ground transport, blasters, any other kind of weapon).
as for finn -- i'm not sure. i think the FO probably didn't want the average storm trooper to be too good at getting weapons and/or transportation working on their own (bc of the potential for revolts and escapes), so only really loyal and experienced storm troopers probably got to do those jobs. BUT in the Resistance i think Finn would want to be as useful as possible and might want to LEARN how to do those kinds of repairs -- plus Rose and Rey do them, and he might want to hang out with them and learn stuff.
so if it's an x or a wing, poe can probably fix it -- anything else, it's probably finn.
2. Any kinks they clash on?
oooh this is one im actually kind of stuck on.
i think this is less a kink that i actually think finn would have, but it is one that shows up sometimes in fic: finn using the force at any time during sex. or at any time generally, but especially during sex. either because he's not in a place to fully control it yet, or bc he's excited about being able to control it and wants to share his new skill set with poe. but i think there's no universe where it would not freak poe out to the point of like, triggering a panic attack -- canonically poe remains kind of wary of force use, and especially in such an intimate space/vulnerable position, i just don't think it's something he would find hot or even like something he could tolerate even if he wasn't specifically into it.
