TIM LAPOINTE: if anybody asks about today , lie .
guilt eats at the pit of his stomach, his lips pressed together in a thin line. god, how can tim be so nonchalant about all this? he feels like he's about to run into the bathroom of this diner and puke. instead, he just tucks tighter into the booth, just to ball himself up into something smaller. jordan's both hot and cold — his body not sure where to go or even what to do. he reaches for the mug of coffee, then back into his lap. the idea of even putting anything into his body is a nightmare.
it's only when tim speaks that jordan looks up at his brother, dark eyes drilling a hole into his brother's gaze. a part of him wants to scream, let people know what they've done. he can't, though. there's fear toward his brother — something primal, rational. instead, he nods. " yeah. yeah. we, uh, we went on a hike. that's what you wanna hear, right? " @anithikos
