“Yung Gravity” by Yung Gravy
The vaporwave aesthetic had a good run for a little while, but it’s dead and never coming back. A smart rapper would’ve ditched that style years ago, but an even smarter rapper would take that approach to imagery and flip it into something fresh, new, and equally compelling. That rapper is Yung Gravy. Gravy’s aesthetic takes it’s marketing queues from 1950′s Americana, and uses it get an advantage over equally talented rappers without an eye catching gimmick. That’s not to say Gravy isn’t super talented, because he is. It’s just that in 2017, being super talented just isn’t enough. You need to be super talented, and super marketable, and Yung Gravy is just that.
