Thesis Film! Hoorah!
I figure a good place to start off is to discuss my college thesis film (@ Cornish College of the Arts/Seattle University), He Who Divides Us, since I've been keeping it under wraps for a bit up until now.
"A retelling of the ventures of St. Patrick from the perspective of the Pagan gods of ancient Ireland; the Dagda must flee with his people to the underground, at the price of his daughter’s identity."
This film follows the Dagda and his wife, the Morrigan (of Irish mythology, as you might've guessed). In lore, they never had any interaction with St. Patrick, but since this is a more loose interpretation of the tale, I chose the most iconic pagan icons to represent pre-Christian Ireland. The film centers around two themes: St. Patrick's trek through Ireland (the clashing religions caused thus), and the conversion of Brigid, the Dagda's daughter, into a Christian saint.
The film is animated and written by me, but I've managed to enlist some frankly remarkable voice talents for the cast of the film! The Morrigan is voiced by Sami Ridge (@samiridgethevoice on Youtube), The Dagda is voiced by Stephen Dalton (https://stephendaltonvo.com), and Brigid is voiced by Elizabeth Cooper. I was also lucky enough to get the assistance of Xelaria Archiver to do the score of the film! Here's some of the character designs/stills from the film:
