3, 6, and 15 for the book asks!

6. books i've read in the past month: simultaneously working on a rome of one's own, very slowly trying to get through the first book in rote (it hasn't hooked me yet but i know from a friend if i can just get past the 40% mark it'll pick up), rereads of both scum villain and heaven official's blessing, and my current book club assignments, which are the plastic eating crow boy book and one of the other books in its series. and since my bad book club friends don't want to read lightlark with me i guess i'm reading that now too.

15. Recommend and review a book ooooh okay lemme think. wait who am i kidding obvious answer: Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. it's basically a science fantasy fanfic pastiche of the fellowship of the ring where Gandalf is a hot milf and it sets up a huge number of plot threads that pay off 6-10 books later in the series with the kind of foreshadowing that will make you insane on rereads. would recommend.

Happy First Storyteller Saturday, Which character of yours takes the longest to grow in your Wips?

Thank you! I would say Zakiyah. She’s one to rely on books and facts so when something happens that doesn’t fit what she believes to be true, it throws her for a loop. Unfortunately for her, her entire worldview is subsequently rocked in this book, her’s and her friends. While the main character Luken adapts rather quickly, Zak is pretty hesitant to do so. In later versions, it’ll take Luken longer too. I always rush on a first draft.
