Best breakfast on the go! My goats Labneh, 🇱🇧za’taar, olives & olive oil on a chunky slice of seeded brown bread, a slice of tomato is optional. A very well balanced breakfast, healthy and nutritious. The protein in the Labneh, the energy boost from the za’taar, the vitamin E and antioxidants from the olives and the many health benefits of the extra virgin olive oil. Have a great healthy Tuesday everyone. #labneh #zataar #lebanesebreakfast #lebanesefood #olives #oliveoil (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch4h_C6ojcm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
The smell of zataar man’oushi baking takes us all back home. This smell is imprinted on our collective memories as Lebanese. The name man’oushi comes from the Arabic word ‘na’ash’ or to engrave, which hints to the way the zataar engraves the dough. It is the essential Lebanese breakfast. #lebanesebreakfast #zataar #wildthyme #sumac #sesameseeds #amoulsrecipes #vegetarianrecipes #veganbreakfast #snacktime (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWGkOmVMq6_/?utm_medium=tumblr

There are a variety of Thyme in Lebanon. Wild thyme is a variety that grows on hilltops and mountains all over lebanon. It is harvested, dried then ground into a fine powder and used in many recipes. It is the main ingredient for the wild thyme mixture know as ZATAAR. Zataar is an important ingredient in the Lebanese larder. A bowl of zataar is a prominent feature on kitchen tables all over the country. Mixed with olive oil it is the topping for the Man’oushi. Eating zataar with Labneh is a morning ritual, for they believe that zataar makes the mind alert and the body strong. That is why as children we were encouraged to eat arouss/sandwich zataar before an exam. #lebanesefood #lebanesebreakfast #zataar #lebanese_delicious_dishes #amoulsrecipes #brunchideas #marinate #lebanesefoodbloggers #breakfastideas #nutritious #healthybreakfast #vegetarianrecipes #veganfood (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CVAeJSzgwSQ/?utm_medium=tumblr
