What types there are, and the pokemon of these types

What natures there are, what pokemon they’re good with, and how natures affect different stats

Classes will be divided as evenly as possible — one day is type, next is nature

“Welcome assembly?” Ruby repeats, a blank look on his face. What assembly? He must’ve missed the memo, because he doesn’t remember having to go to one. Ahh, shit, well—at least he knows now. “Right, that welcome assembly… I’ll be there!”

He pats Hikari on the shoulder. “Nice meetin’ ya, princess! I’ll see you later.”

"I'm not sure if we're having one this year or not, but it's better to be safe than sorry, right?" She shrugged off his hand, giving him a pointed glare as she spoke.

"Please don't call me 'Princess', by the way." It wasn't that she disliked the name; she was just tired of him messing with her. And, to be honest, she disliked nicknames in the first place, except for a rare few. "Just call me Hikari. Or, if you absolutely must call me something else, Platinum also serves."

“Huh.” Oh, right, Hikari’s from Sinnoh. No duh. Ruby’s used to, well, being in Hoenn, where people usualy had Pokegears. “Ah, well, it’s fine. I’ll just see you in class, yeah?”

"Yeah!" Because, even if Ruby had officially been labeled a jerk in her list of people she knew, Hikari still wouldn't mind seeing him again. He was nice, and easy to talk to. Just a jerk. "Anyways, I need to go head to my dorm now. I've already had my things dropped off, but I wanted to check everything out. So, we'll be parting ways, I guess. I'll see you at the welcome assembly?" If they even had one this year, that is. Hikari didn't know for sure.

Hikari took a moment to think.

“I just don’t want anyone to start any rumours or lies or anything. I just really don’t like that kind of stuff,” she eventually replied. “It’s not that I wouldn’t it, er, being with you, it’s just a matter of what it is — you know what I mean? Regardless of what the rumours are, I don’t want them. That’s all.”

She rubbed the back of her neck, at a loss for what to say next.

“You’re such an awkward penguin,” Ruby says after pursing his lips at her for a few moments, apparently deep in thought. But he smiles anyway, holding up his hands in defeat. “Ok, ok, fine. I concede for real this time.”

Ruby goes quiet for a moment. Eventually, he speaks up and asks, “Hey, maybe we could exchange Pokegear numbers? That way we could keep in touch, huh? I mean outside of class, I guess. Plus,” he points at her, “we’re totally making that battle performance practice happening. It’s a thing now.”

"Pokegear...?"

She'd never heard of it. Hikari stopped to stare at him for a few moments. "Is that like a Poketch? Or is it something different?" She held up her own Poketch, on her right wrist, in example. "My Poketch doesn't store phone numbers, though. Sorry." She smiled apologetically, the incident finally fading in her mind. For now.

“And?”

Ruby watches Hikari carefully, though, fortunately or unfortunately, he doesn’t treat his words the same way. “I mean, does it matter what other people think, whether it’s the right or wrong idea?” He scratches the side of his face, smirking just a little bit. “As long as we know what’s actually going on, right?”

Then he nudges Hikari with his elbow. “Plus, if people did think the ‘wrong’ way, honestly—it’s me. I’m basically amazing and everything that’s good in this world.”

"Well... I guess not, but..."

Hikari took a moment to think.

“All right, all right, fine.” He simply smiles, making sure his bag is still in place. Check. But, just for kicks, Ruby takes Hikari’s hand again—only this time, he plants a kiss on it. “For you, Princess.”

Then he lets her go, practically grinning from ear to ear, waiting for the inevitable explosion. (He hadn’t met anyone so easily flustered since his friend way back when he was a little kid! And that’s saying something.)

And there he goes again, trying to hit on her more or less. Hikari jerks her hand away and turns another shade of scarlet, although at least lighter than before. "Stop that!!!"

"Seriously, I'm thinking about hitting you!!" Ah, yes. Because hitting will solve everything, Hikari, and she groaned at her own stupid lack of self-confidence. "Just stop. No more joking around, it's way too embarrassing! I don't want anyone to see us and get the wrong idea!"

“I… guess that’s true. Let’s just end it there; no style of taking care of or using Pokemon is better than the other, okay?” Hikari crossed her arms. “I think that’s the best solution, yup.”

“Heh, you have a point.” She laughed a bit. “No use in arguing over it. Both are important, and besides all that matters is that you’re having fun with your Pokemon right?”

"Yeah! That's the whole point, I think." She shrugged, sighing and taking off her hat to readjust her ponytail. "Anyways, I think I need to go check out my dorm. I still don't know if I have a roommate this year or not, so."
