Summary:

Ever since the Clean Sweepstakes, Surge chases the adoration of the people, revelling at the idea of bathing in all the fame and stealing the received hero worship from Sonic. And if she gets to beat up the blue nuisance while she’s at it? That’s even better.

Now if only most of her achievements weren’t based on lies.

Kitsunami, her only companion, fabricated most of the perils and dangers so Surge could play hero. Angry and feeling betrayed, Surge lashes out, chasing the fennec away.

Lost, alone and soon haunted by Dr. Starline, she crosses paths with none other than Shadow the Hedgehog on less than friendly terms.

What Surge doesn’t realize, however, is that Shadow had once been in a similar position as her and knows what it’s like to have your mind altered, your past erased and voices whispering in your head.

Shadow may act aloof – but his guiding hand may just help Surge find her own path in life – without others manipulating and controlling her.
