ego death shouldn't be your spiritual goal if you're a woman

patriarchy steals our ego from an early age; we're taught to always quiet ourselves, make space for men, always consider others first, and dedicate tons of mental space being vigilant of other's needs

sometimes, women's spiritual goal needs to be DEVELOPING AN EGO in the first place, learning to have a voice

the idea of killing your ego is a concept developed by men across countless traditions, and it exists because men oftentimes DO need to learn to check their ego

women's spiritual needs are systemically neglected, and when women were finally able to engage in spiritual communities, we were expected to force ourselves into a man-shaped box

we have to author our own path, and while we may need to check our ego sometimes, and while we can learn from spiritual leaders of the past, we must also keep adaptation as the central focus in our spiritual journey, because no one else will do it for us
