Do other diabetics feel like they shouldnt be alive? Like we’re cheating death or something? Do you also feel like you were born a burden and have done nothing but cause people constant worry and upset? I never feel comfortable, like I belong. I always feel like I need to make myself smaller, to just exist where im not wanted.
Riddle me this.
Do you ever wonder how you’d do it? Do you go out high or low? Do you take what you deserve or slip away unnoticed? And what if they save you? What do you do then?
FOR FUCKS SAKE. There needs to be more emotional support, more education, more specialists!! After I almost died in the hospital IN MAY I was told I'd have to wait until AUGUST to be seen by my endocrinologist because she's the only one around. Its no different anywhere you go. We KNOW we have an illness. We KNOW we need to take care of ourselves. WE FUCKING KNOW. We also know that it's never going to end. Its a life long illness. It doesn't get better, in fact EVERYONE likes to remind us how it's only going to get worse. How we're going to lose our vision, how our vains are going to dry up, how we'll lose our feet and hands, we'll end up on dialysis! Trust me, we won't forget!! We stab ourselves every fucking day of our lives over and over, we deal with bruises and blood and insulin buildups. We deal with the ignorance and the judgement. WE DIDNT CHOOSE THIS SO STOP BLAMING US. How about you focus on the fact you haven't been to the gym this week or that you eat garbage on the regular. How about you realise that we struggle with taking our insulin the same fucking way you struggle to take of yourselves! Then you sit and wonder why we get depressed and give up.. because we are challenged everyday. We are confronted with death multiple times a day. The choice lies in wether or not we take that dose. Do you think critism or telling us how to take care of our bodies is helping? PEOPLE ARE DYING BECAUSE THE WORLD IS IGNORANT AND HAS DECIDED TO BLAME US FOR A DISEASE WE DID NOT ASK FOR, WE DID NOT DO TO OURSELVES and there is nowhere for us to turn when we need understanding. I'm praying for the family of this man and for all those lost to this treatable disease and I hope to god that they're somewhere safe, somewhere they can finally feel like they are accepted and loved and cared for.
Everyone overreacting when you inject in public.

Important reminders ❤
personally I think one of the worst things about having diabetes is that other people just don’t get it
they either don’t understand it and don’t care to understand it. “oh you’re giving yourself a needle okay gross I’ll just turn away.” or they think it’s just some weird sugar disease and they’re ignorant and rude about it. “oh haha all this sugar is gunna give me diabetus!” or maybe they get it but it scares them so they try to control it. “oh my goodness do you need insulin? a granola bar? oh don’t eat that sugar. what’s your blood sugar level at?” or they think they get it but they simplify it and go from there. “yeah it’s just monitoring your bgl and taking insulin. that’s it! all diabetics can live a happy healthy life.”
it’s just so tiring to have to deal with non-diabetics. and it sucks that it’s apparently our responsibility to teach them what diabetes really is
My blood sugars have been bad recently and I know it, yet trying to make them better after 11 years of trying without feeling rewarded is so hard. I feel like it takes so much mental effort. It’s like this mental block that makes it hard to care or work hard. I feel so guilty for not taking care of myself well because i’m fortunate enough to have a great doctor, a pump, and a cgm. I just feel so stuck and like I can’t keep working this hard. I’m also scared of gaining weight if i increase my basals.

I understand. ❤
I wonder what I’d be like if I were never mentally ill.
How far could I go if my mind wasn’t fighting itself? (via the-death-of-inspiration)
You know what absolutely boggles my mind? That healthy people exist. Genuinely healthy people. No mental illness, no physical illness, no chronic illness. Just healthy. What a life that must be.
This fucks with my head though. There are people who get up and feel… Awake, and then they go and just… Do their adult responsibilities without feeling anxious or upset? They just return phonecalls? Answer calls from unknown numbers? Don’t procrastinate doing important things until is a huge problem that makes you cry??
That sounds fake.
yeah mom im ok i just dont want to be alive haha
When a nonbetic tries to tell me how to take care of my diabetes
