Headcanon that Rumi takes their “no more lies” rule to heart to the point where it becomes detrimental to Zoey’s and Mira’s emotional health.

It’s totally genuine and they believe that, don’t get them wrong. It’s just that…they don’t need to know that Rumi is going to the kitchen to get a snack and that she’s going to get grapes but she might change her mind and she just wanted to let them know. It’s okay, Rumi, getting a different snack than the one you originally said you were going to get isn’t a lie.

That’s pretty cute, but every now and then when Zoey or Mira ask her something like why she never had stuffed animals growing up (in my Glow Vibes universe) and Rumi just casually says “oh Celine said I didn’t need attachments, she said that they could distract from my Hunter training and encourage the selfish aspects of my demon half” or “yeah we trained in all sorts of weather, once the snow was up to my knees and I accidentally got frostbite but it was okay because I got soup” sends them into orbit because hello?? Rumi??

And she just shrugs her shoulders, not really understanding why her girlfriends are so upset. Mira’s finally the one that says “we appreciate your honesty and you’re doing so, so well but I think we need to discuss some of these stories.”
