you think the Marauders released fireworks and Sirius was fine but the next year after being animagi Sirius just freaked out. And that is how they figured out that an animagus gains traits of the animal they take on. Because in my mind they were so focus of figuring out a way they could help Remus during full moons that they didn't actually dig deeper into what it means to be an animagus and why its such a controlled progress that you literally have to register for.

Currently suffering on a fishing boat in 98 Fahrenheit weather so I’d like to share my summer Mauraders headcanons:

James is a beach boy he’s out there tanning, body surfing, fishing, and swimming in the ocean having the time of his motherfucking life

Remus is on the beach with a streak of sunscreen down his nose that’s not rubbed in and he’s lounging in a beach chair with a book

Sirius is building sandcastles and powering through a sunburn that’s slowly turning into a real burn it’s so bad

Peter was viciously buried in the sand and is probably being harassed by an angry crab like a character in a cartoon

Barty & Evan are hunting for hermit crabs and doing some amateur snorkeling while Regulus supervises like a pissed of lifeguard (he’s also carrying around an umbrella)

The Valkyries are all playing volleyball and DEFINITELY have sand in every little crevice

Pandora is frolicking in the high grass and following seagull prints

Monsterhigh but it's Evan as a Venus McFlytrap kind of monster while Pandora is a banshee & Barty is a werecat (very specifically he's an Abyssinian werecat) -- the Black brothers are very obviously vampires, and to change it up James is a werewolf while Remus is a Gorgon
