04/20 -- All-Butter Multi-Flavor Pound Cake -- One. Whole. Pound of butter y'all. I had to chuckle when I first read @itsjessmetv 's intro to this cake (I'm right there with you: 2 sticks of butter is NOT the foundation for a pound cake). So, I started with my 4 sticks of butter, got it all light & creamy; got my jelly glass & started with a teaspoon of vanilla + 1/2 tsp of almond but then, next thing I know I'm adding about 1/2 tsp of 7 other flavors -- hence, that multi-flavor angle 😉... Baked this one to take on a road trip to Columbus OH. It did stick a tiny bit, but next time I'll let it cool for a longer period -- cold oven, 300°, 80 mins, turned oven off but left cake in for another 10 mins before removing. End result: a cake that's perfectly moist, not too dense but still has a soft bite that, to me, is what makes a good pound cake a GREAT pound cake 😉...And just think: I'm still learning y'all 💖 Thanx Jess!
