How difficult is Kori Trek?
The Kori Trek in the Annapurna Region is generally considered moderate in difficulty. It is not an easy walk, but it is also not one of Nepal’s hardest treks. Most fit beginners can do it with preparation.
Here’s what makes it challenging:
Steep uphill sections — especially from Kapuche/Kori area to Kori Danda.
Altitude — the trek reaches around 3,800–4,200m, where some people may feel mild altitude sickness.
Daily walking — usually 5–7 hours on uneven trails.
Basic facilities — fewer tea houses and simpler accommodation compared to popular treks like Everest Base Camp or Annapurna Base Camp.
Good news
No technical climbing or ropes are needed.
The trail is shorter than many famous treks.
The mountain views are amazing and the route is less crowded.
Best for Kori Trek
Beginners with decent fitness
People who hike or exercise regularly
Trekkers wanting an offbeat Himalayan trek
Hardest part of the Trek
Most trekkers say the climb to Kori Danda is the toughest section because it is steep and at high altitude. Mud, snow, or rain can also make the trail slippery.
Here is Kori Trek guide for the trekkers who is planning to trek Annapurna region in Nepal.
