Fu Man Tsu (aka Fumi) was found in a cafeteria begging for petting when he was about 3 months old. He got along very well with the other cats and dogs. His fluffiness and kind character makes him an adorable cat for company. He is vaccinated, castrated and about 7 months old.

Tiimo is almost 5 months old and a very good character. He still has the habit to make paws to whoever thinks his mum is. He is vaccinated and getting along with the cats and dogs, and always seeking for his friend Fumi to play with. Everyone fall in love with his one deep blue eye (the other is brown).

Mummy is an ex-stray adult cat about 3 years old. After her latest birth, she was collected neutered and get fed well and vaccinated. She is not aggressive and what she searches most of the time is a sofa to lie down.

Betty Boo is Mummy’s daughter. She is quite shy. She basically grew up on the balcony with her mum and sisters by a volunteer that took them from the street. She will probably need sometimes to get used to her new environment.

Pepe...an amazing recovery!He can see again!

When Pepe was found he was blind...but our vet said that he might see again...and there he is! He can see, he can run, he can jump and he is a very happy puppy!!!

You may wonder why we dont upload horror pictures of greek animals. Well, we prefer to show you the result of our work. Dogs and cats that are in our site were abandoned and matreated and they were starving till we found them. We dont believe in endless appeals for help and horror photos that show no action. We will only upload photos that show a bad situation of a dog/cat that is now rescued, fostered or adopted for you to understand that everything is possible. We want you to be part of the solution and support our work. Horror photos makes us all feel bad and we know that when we cannot help we feel discouraged. We cannot possibly expect someone to come from USA or Germany to feed a skinny dog that is why we will not show this kind of photo to you. We will though show you a photo of this dog after it was rescued and by the description you will understand what have happened. We are happy people that are not discouraged by difficulties and we believe that hard work results in miracles. More than 1000 dogs that were rescued by our society will agree to that! Katrina's rescue story as it was described by our volunteer that spotted her and collected her

Katrina..rescued while giving birth under a car!!

"I looked across the street and saw a large, very pregnant female dog twirling around in a panic. I thought, oh no she’s giving birth right there on the sidewalk! This was on a very busy road with trucks, buses, and cars traveling at high speeds. The dog was in a panic and I saw her run to take cover under a car as a bus sped right by her and scared her. Dimitris asked me to go over immediately and pick her up so I can take her somewhere safe. I drove to the other side of the road and found the dog hiding under a car. As I bent down to see her I heard a little whimpering cry coming from the side of the road. I looked over the sidewalk and saw a little puppy lying on the side of the road still with its umbilical cord and covered in dirt. I picked the little pup up and took it to her mom. Momma immediately started cleaning her. She was looking so worried and scared as she was in labor and was not in a secure place.

I put a lead around her neck and gently coaxed her out from under the car. Holding her puppy, I led her to the car and lifted her in. She did not growl at all and seemed like she knew this was a good thing. I rushed her to one of our volunteers home whom I had called and of course she immediately said “bring momma home!” On the way, this beautiful, gentle mom put her head on my shoulder and gave me a big kiss on the cheek.

We got home in time to quickly prepare a makeshift birthing box, threw some blankets and towels down and momma immediately sat down. Within minutes she was looking a lot more relaxed and was licking our hands as if to say thank you. She proceeded to give birth to 6 beautiful puppies. Unfortunately one of the little pups did not make it so now we have 3 beautiful boys and 2 girls. Dimitris baptized the mom Katrina and we think the name suits her very well.

The whole family is now safe. Katrina will have a warm nest, food, and great care. 

The big obstacle for us now is to be able to finance Katrina’s care. All our volunteers, that are active and rescue and foster dogs, each have from 10-18 dogs. As we don’t receive any funding from the municipality, we rely solely on our own finances and donations. Your help in food, vaccinations, anti parasitic medications, and help with traveling expenses would be a great gift to us. Katrina and family may have had a bumpy start but now they will surly find great families and will be very well taken care of.
