I died on the beach that cold November morning, my body scraped against the worm rock, dragged under by the weight of his betrayal, the chemical cocktail in my blood numbing the pain.

The last remnant of the woman who’d loved him unwavering for 19 years was washed away with the tide. I embraced the peace that would drown out his cruel words; I craved the nothingness that would replace the images of my husband and his lover. I welcomed death with open arms, unafraid.
