Running from one of the tents, a bandit chucked a bottle of a flaming liquid in Kronos's direction. It shattered against his chestplate, engulfing his upper body in fire that seeped down between the plates and clouded his vision.
"Are you alright?" She called out to him from the hilt of his sword.
He stepped forward out of the flames, swinging his blade in a wide arch towards a bandit rushing him from the side. It cleaved into their skull and became embedded in their right eye socket "Just-" He grabbed the bandit's limp corpse and tore his sword for their head. "-Peachy."
"But you're on fire?" Her observation came out more confused than concerned.
"The armor is-" A bandit struck Kronos's helmet with a wooden club, only for him to respond back with an upward swing, slicing through their arm, leaving it half severed and coated in the same burning liquid.
Barely audible above the bandit's screams, he heard her call out "Behind you!"
Kronos quickly pulled his sword back and reversed his grip. He side stepped the incoming ax swing, before plunging the sword's blade into the ambushing bandit's sternum. "The armor is heat resistant." He finished, before taking a short moment to recover his breath.
"Well that's neat." She suddenly manifested beside him, a cloud of ethereal blue light and smoke. She pointed to a tent a few dozen yards away. "There's a gunpowder store over there in that tent, by the way."
"On it." Kronos clenched his fingers around a flame in his hand, before launching it forward. It took only a moment after contact before the entire tent went up in flames, followed by an explosion that illuminated the whole camp.
"What a sight! Would have loved to have you on our side back in the day." She snickered and placed her hands on her non-existent hips as she admired the display.
"Then you wouldn't be dead." He replied coldly.
"Even better!" She laughed softly, seemingly unaware or unphased by the fact he hadn't meant it as a joke. She then pointed to the edge of the camp. "Guy to your left, he's making a run for it."
"Let him." He replied, sheathing his sword on his hip and wiping away the rest of the fire from his arms and shoulders.
"But then he'll inform the next camp about you?" Again, her tone was more confused than concerned. She trusted his abilities, but not necessarily his decision making skills.
He knelt down to search the pockets of one of the slain bandits. "We're not going to the next camp." He pilfered a few silver coins and plucked a ring off their finger.
"Where to next then?" She asked, recalling herself back to his blade.
"You'll see." He rose back to his feet and started walking back to the woods, and she, without much of a choice in the matter, followed.
