vinícius:
vinícius wasn’t surprised to see adrien unannounced at his front door. of course, he never has the time to change into something less casual than a hoodie, but it shouldn’t be a problem for someone who has known him since he was a child. today, vinícius is especially distracted and doesn’t even notice adrien’s stare as he unpacks his things. he hadn’t planned to stay in kaos for so long and it was a last-minute decision to move out of the bella donna hotel so he could have more privacy.
“hm?” he turns around to face adrien, still holding one of the hangers. “well, i have to return the porsche and maybe buy some basic kitchen supplies.” not that vinícius can’t afford a car of his own, but it would be a complete waste since he has never enjoyed driving. he rents them when the situation calls for it and is forced to explain that no, he doesn’t own several different cars. “you don’t have to come with me if you don’t want to,” he says. “my plans aren’t actually special, but we could rent an electric motorcycle once we’re there.”
adrien barely blinks at the mention of the porsche. like adrien, vinícius had come from a formidable amount of wealth. adrien reveled in the luxury of their lives, the breeziness and lack of care for the formidable names leisurely thrown around. adrien... was not easy to relate to. but vinícius, for so many reasons, understands the nature of his true self. adrien is so glad that out of all people, he was the one he was able to grow up with.
he runs a hand through his thick, dark hair. it’s getting long now, reaching the ears with ease. he looks like one of the boys who frequented the beaches in biarritz he grew up on. while it was a hassle to keep back when working in the lab, he thought he looked more than good with his current hair length. “how domestic of you. all this time, i thought you were such an explorer,” he says, his lips upturned in an amused smile. or perhaps adrien was describing himself, as vinícius used to travel along with him as a child. “i’ll come along. it’s not like i had other plans.” in fact, adrien has a million things to do, most of them work related, so he can’t pin down what made him hide the truth. standing up, he takes his denim jacket and flings it over his shoulder. opening the door, he looks back and says, “we should take the motorcycle around the coast. if you want, we can park it by the beach and go surfing again, just like the good old days, yeah?”
