And after a while you just stop. You stop watering your plants. You stop watching netflix. You stop reading. You stop replying to your friends as fast as you used to. You stop buying yourself nice things. You stop putting an effort into how you look. You stop taking care of yourself like you used to. You stop sleeping. You stop eating healthy foods. You stop petting your dog. You stop socializing.

You stop with everything. You find yourself sitting in your room for hours on end, without doing a single thing. Days feel like years. And you think you can’t do it for much longer.

After nearly half a year of no practice/training at all, I was finally able to move/trick again. It felt really good and it made me feel so alive. I am super rusty though and would definitely continue to practice again at least once a week. I will slowly get my form back and maybe add some parkour stuff on my next weeks of training. (Video taken last November 10, 2018)

We are creatures of earth, living most our existence on land. tied to the ground we crawl, walk, and run.. we climb to seek greater heights, but still i feel trapped.. that is why I love the sense of flight! I love the sensation that is freedom! when i’m soaring through the air, i feel unbounded, like a dog unleashed, or a bird freed from it’s cage. it doesn’t matter whether i’m flipping, twisting, swinging from bar to bar, or simply jumping. but there’s always an end to this sensation, because as the laws of physics apply; what goes up, must come down, but that doesn’t mean i would stop.. i will keep on flying in many ways possible, to see the world from a different point of view, a world seen from up above, like looking at it through a different set of eyes…

I feel like a bird inside a cage, bounded by the rules and responsibilities of life. I feel like I am no longer my own person but a shadow of what people believe me to be. I want to be me again. Unbounded by rules yet responsible for my life and of the others that depend on me.
