meet rhubarb!! he's a lion clown based on circus animal cookies (mostly in base colors + the rainbow sprinkles). i wound up making a new (dyed) skin for him and i'm very happy with how he came out, especially his outfit + paint! i was also inspired by @aesthetspaghet's animal cracker custom, tho i have had the idea to make a circus animal cookie themed furby for awhile 🫡 i have a few other customs that have been finished/are close to being finished that i'll post about soon too, including a few that i'm going to sell! :-)

how do u turn furbeis beak into an :3 ?

Thank you for the ask!

First I start off by drawing a vertical centre line down the beak so I can get the placement right. Next I draw two curved lines on either side of the centre line to create the '3' shape.

Here are a couple of progress pics, I don't have any of it actually being carved unfortunately.

To carve the plastic I use a triangular file and use a sawing motion starting at the bottom of the vertical line, moving up towards where the curved lines join, creating a triangular chip in the beak. Then I file diagonally along those curved lines to create a more rounded shape.

I also use a high grit sandpaper (600-800) to further smooth the edges. Holding it up to the light also highlights any parts that are a little uneven, so I repeat this process until I'm happy with the shape.

Thank you! I had the old skin of a pink flamingo furby left over from a trade. Their tummy fabric was beyond saving so I replaced it with one from a tuxedo furby, and I made new feet for her with jersey fabric. The inner ears are replaced with gingham cotton but the backs are original 😊

I made this sweet little red-tailed specter moth furby as a commission for a lovely Instagram follower.

I absolutely adore moths, so this commission was a real pleasure to work on! Their wings are articulated allowing them to be opened and closed 🌙💙

Thank you! I used joints for teddy bears in a small size (15mm I think). They're quite easy to use, but it's important to get the placement right before putting the stopper on the back because it's near impossible to remove. I have another moth furby in the works so I'll make a tutorial for the wings soon :)

Not my favourite aesthetically (that spot's reserved for Vinny but I figured y'all were getting tired of seeing him), but here's my most sentimental furby!

Meet Kippy! I've had him since I was a kid. Growing up I just called him Furby, he didn't get a proper name until after I'd customised him. His name takes inspiration from the cake brand 'Mr Kipling'. Pretty fitting given his sweet tooth is unmatched.

By some miracle he's managed to stay with me despite moving house 9 times and subsequently losing the vast majority of my childhood possessions
