it’s been awhile. we’re back.

We’re looking for Black LGBTQIA+ participants in South Georgia!

SoOOoo.... I have a documentary series (@afrikweer) about Black LGBTQIA+ folks where I interview folks about who they are and their story. I started this series two years ago because I felt like Black LGBTQIA+ folks weren’t getting real representation in smaller areas. Especially in places like South Georgia. Being from South Georgia, I feel like I can really make a difference with my art to show the truth about who we are and what our lives are like down here and to document it so that future generations will know who we were and what kind of lives we lived. We don’t have the kind of hubs that larger cities do, but we still exist and it’s incredibly important that we begin to document our stories in our own words so that nobody else can tell their version of who we really are.

Every participant in the series gets a free photoshoot in addition to an interview. The interviews will be compiled into a feature length documentary film and the photos into a photography book. Participants will receive copies of both the film and the book.
