Ask me to name one thing I like about myself and it'll take me some time to come up with an answer. Ask me what I DONT like about myself, I can give you a list. Sad, isn't it?

I really do feel numb at times in the sense that I feel like I'm not even here anymore. I'm alive but dead on the inside... Maintaining but not really living. I have no motivation... Why? Because I feel like there's not a lot of time left until I take the batteries out of the clock so what's the point in doing any better.
“I’m not sentimental—I’m as romantic as you are. The idea, you know, is that the sentimental person thinks things will last—the romantic person has a desperate confidence that they won’t.”
F. Scott Fitzgerald, This Side of Paradise (via psych-facts)
My worst nightmare is unraveling.
Maintaining but not living.
Going through the motions.
Twenty fourteen... What an interesting turn it took from the way it started. I entered the new year looking forward to the many great memories and blessings that I would soon experience. And lasting memories and hidden blessings I soon discovered. It's been a roller coaster with many highs and extreme lows. However my lows truly have matured me because these are milestones I would have needed to encounter and overcome in order to grow. But you. Oh you. I wish I ended the year the way I started... With you. But life took an unexpected turn halfway through and decided to give me the bad with the good. I know many often look forward to a new year because they want to put the last year behind them but me? I'm not ready. I'm not ready to close this chapter of my life. Quite frankly, it scares me a little. You're becoming more and more of a distant memory. I've already lost you. Yet a part of me feels like upon entering 2015, I'll lose what we had. What I had for you. Yes, it's been in the past and it's all a memory but I'm not ready for it to drift further away from my grasp. I was so happy beginning of 2014 and I just want that back.
I’d love to have a date at grand central station.
I’d love to put a lock on the Brooklyn Bridge.
I’d love to sit and drink coffee on the high line.
I’d love to stroll through Central Park with snow falling.
I’d love to experience love, in New York.
Emotionally, I wanted to stay. Intellectually, I wanted to leave. As always, I seemed to enjoy punishing myself.
Susan Sontag, from Reborn: Journals & Notebooks (via seulray)
You have to find the right distance between people. Too close, and they overwhelm you, too far and they abandon you.

One of the risks of being quiet is that other people can fill your silence with their own interpretation: You’re bored. You’re depressed. You’re shy. You’re stuck up. You’re judgmental. When others can’t read us, they write their own story—not always one we choose or that’s true to who we are.

"She’s a dreamer, a soul searcher and a wanderer. She drifts along, deep in thought, her mind craving exploration and her eyes telling tales of mysterious adventures."

And it has been one hell of a year. I have worn the seasons under my sleeves, on my thighs, running down my cheeks. This is what surviving looks like, my dear.
