Gingadan 1st one-man Live
Gingadan 1st one-man Live
I’m going to try not to talk too much about how much I truly love this group, because it’s coming up to their year anniversary (and therefore mine) and I’m planning a long post for that. So all I will say is that this was a very special day for me, and for them also. When they first announced they were going to do their own live, even they said they had been a little worried about it, and so were…

Translation: JUNON March 2018 Gingadan
I translated this interview from March 2018’s edition of JUNON magazine. The interview was done with them between the first and second shows of the Bancho Boys Christmas Live on December 23rd 2017. (more…)

Looking back on a former favourite group
I’m not really that sure on why I’m posting this, but I wrote it, so I might as well. I was thinking today that it was about time I wrote another blog entry to keep on track with my 8 a month, but somehow this wasn’t what I was expecting to talk about. I went on Youtube today to watch Gingadan’s PV, and I used a “mix” link because it was easier than searching for the song, and I could see it was…

From November 30th to December 3rd 2017, I stayed in Tokyo to watch all five shows of Bancho Boys 10th stage, Crows Zero. This was the second Bancho Boys stage I’ve watched all the shows of, …
[download] Give Up Dance
I’m really happy to finally be able to share this stage. I may be a little biased as a Bancho Boys fan, but I saw this stage live twice and I consider this one of the best stages I’ve seen. I’d love for more people to see it and tell me what they think.
The stage follows Satoshi (Futaba Kaname), Keigo (Itokawa Yojiro) and Takuya (Domoto Shohei) struggling to become a successful band despite 10 years of trying with the help of their manager (played by Chiwata Yuhei). As their agency already has a successful duo under them (Take a Chance, played by Kajihara Hayate and Takamoto Gaku), they and their manager are labelled as failures and discriminated against, but they finally get their chance with the help of a new producer (played by Akira) and their one fan Serina (played by Kihara Rui).
The stage has it’s comedy moments, but it’s also a real and emotional glimpse into how hard it is to make it into the entertainment business (”following your dream is a worse kind of addiction than an kind of drug” as their manager says. It also has a lot of parallels with the actor’s real lives (in the last show, Yojiro changed his speech during one of their later scenes and used his own words rather than his character’s, and no one who had only seen the show that day knew the difference).
I’d be particularly happy if you looked out for Kihara Rui who plays their fan. I love this kid to death and his performance in this show was part of the reason why. The backstage also includes the opening act for this stage which is a performance from the group he is in (who I also love to death) called Gingadan.
Anyway, enough rambling from me and onto the links:

Gingadan/DRESS_No. Release Event
On Saturday July 1st, I went to DRESS_No. and Gingadan’s joint release event at Tamaplaza Terrace in Kanagawa. It was my first time in a while seeing DRESS_No. (but definitely not first time in a while for Gingadan since I’d seen them almost every weekend for the past month). I arrived at the stage area at the mall at around 10am when the mall opened. There were a few fans standing around but…

Kazuma singing to me for my birthday (it’s tomorrow but since he was doing a live stream today I mentioned it to him today). I was so happy I cried but somehow I managed to keep hold of the camera while he sang. The livestream (or my Wifi) failed a little towards the end but I got most of it properly.
I am going to watch Kuroko no Basuke: Overdrive on July 1st, and will be taking orders for goods. Payment is by Paypal only (in Japanese yen) and you will be responsible for Paypal fees. There will…

How to buy stage tickets in Japan
How to buy stage tickets in Japan
I’ve had a lot of people ask me recently about how to buy tickets for stages in Japan, and so I decided rather than replying to everyone individually I would just make a post in the hope it could also help other people out. The details in this post apply to stage shows only. I’m not going to get into the minefield of other events because they vary so much that it’d be impossible to put something…

After 3.5 months my tousute bromides have arrived _(:3」∠)_ I’m happy they’re finally here but I want to share this experience because i think people should know the pros and cons when choosing a proxy to buy stage stuff.
This was my 2nd order with AoS. The 1st time was fine but this time was kinda an ordeal. I wasn’t upset by how long it took (i’m used to things taking awhile to get to hawaii) it was the lack of communication and honesty _(:3」∠)_
Timeline:
Dec 24 - emailed my order
Dec 26 - received order confirmation
Dec 27 - gave them my paypal email for invoice
Jan 12 - (17 days later) still did not receive invoice. I emailed to check.
Jan 13 - they resent invoice. I paid $18.40 for 2 bromide sets (note: Jan 17 was last tousute show)
Feb 9 - (28 days later) still hasn’t arrived. I emailed to check on status, didn’t receive a reply
Feb 26 - (1.5 months later) received a mass email (to me and 9 other ppl) that our package is stuck in customs and should arrive in 2 weeks.
March 22 - (2 months 26 days later) still hasn’t arrived. emailed to check on status again. no reply.
March 23 - I post on twitter about waiting over 2 months. AoS replies immediately & asks me to dm them. Said they switched servers so emails were lost. Their “agent” is in japan picking up the package that was sent back from customs and will ship when they get back on March 29
March 28 - they email me to say 1 out of 3 hasebe bromides is missing (but how does this happen?? All 3 bromides supposed to come in 1 package. red flag!) BUT they have all of micchan’s bromides + his exclusive set and will send it to me, no extra charge. I ask what happened and they said they’re not sure, they went thru a different “agent” this time (but I was under the impression that they go to the stage themselves and buy the goods, no??)
April 8 - (total 3 months 15 days later) received the package (it wasn’t even a package, no envelope or protective backing, just taped up kraft paper orz it could have easily bent or smashed)
So I open it and ???? The packages have sticky marks where a label was ripped off. 2 still have barcode on back. Individually packaged, not 3 to a set like usual. Meaning,,, they were from RESALE SHOPS, not directly from the stage _(:3」∠)_ _(:3」∠)_ _(:3」∠)_
I order bromides specifically because I want to give the actors support, even if it’s just a little; since I cannot go to the play myself. The thing with bromides tho is that your money only goes to supporting the actors if you buy it from the venue. If they are from a resale shop, profits go to the resale shop
So…. regardless of if the package got stuck in customs or not, it seems somehow the order was messed up by the “agent” so the goods didn’t get bought at the venue and they had to go hunt around resale shops and that’s why one was missing; it took this long; and they were so vague about the reasoning..
Idk how to feel 🙃 Like i said, i don’t mind the wait but I would prefer the truth. if unforeseen issues happen, that’s fine! i’m a very understanding and patient person, but just tell me?? i know things are busy for everyone but being left hanging nearly a month between replies is not professional imo and it should have been disclosed that they were being bought resale. I just///// hope they will improve their services for future customers
Other than that… I’m glad my boys are finally home and they look freaking amazing and I’ll be posting scans soon _(:3」∠)_
HOLD UPPPPP NOW I’M KINDA UPSET????
I just found out from my friends who HAVE THE ACTUAL BROMIDE SETS;;;
that ALL THE BROMIDES I GOT FROM AoS ARE THE RANDOM BROMIDES AND NOT THE SETS I ORDERED wwwwwwwwwww HOW
http://animeonstage.com/?p=6381 Double checked their buying service page and it indeed says individual bromide sets, which is what I ordered:
they didn’t even list trading bromides as an option????
what I got was ALL trading (random) bromides:
http://www.marv.jp/special/toukenranbu_2/goods.html
Ok, now I’m upset lol
yes, i’m happy i got bromides but the point is WHY LIE TO ME THE WHOLE TIME????? this was not just some simple mistake. something CLEARLY went wrong with this order and instead of telling the truth they left me hanging 3.5 months and i didn’t even get what i actually paid for lololol i can’t even
As someone who runs proxy services too I can't even comprehend how this would happen lol.

How I fell for Yasui Kazuma
How I fell for Yasui Kazuma
This was supposed to be a whole other post about all of my favourite Ensemble Stars on Stage actors but I went on for too long so let’s make this a post on its own, shall we? Usually when I talk about actors I like, I talk about people I’ve been a fan of for a while, usually a year or more. It’s easy to forget when, how and why you became someone’s fan after that length of time, so I thought it’d…

Happy New Year
First of all, Happy New Year, everyone! I hope everyone had a great time celebrating last night. I spent the New Year with family and some family friends, eating too much food and playing games, and then seeing in the New Year by singing Auld Lang Syne, which was a tradition my grandma started when my parents first started hosting this party before I was even born. I spent another amazing year in…

1 year Shotaversary
One year ago today, I watched the first show of Tenimyu’s Seigaku vs Yamabuki in Tokyo Dome City Hall. I was particularly happy with this musical before even seeing it, knowing that so many of my favourites were in it. I had committed myself to at least six shows. The only thing I was missing was a favourite character or cast member from Yamabuki. I didn’t know at the time that it was going to…
