Friday is that day when one finishes the week, everything is over. The first thing that happens is the attitude changes, the cities wake up their Friday's energies and transmit it to its inhabitants. Whereas the masculine gender prepares to conquer the public and dance till the sun comes up, the female, wears high heels and red lips to catch up on the dancefloor. Walking aroud the Greenwich Village yesterday night after shooting  a great gallery opening, I found one of those magazines places all around Soho, Nolita and the village. I asked the owner of the business what was the latest, hottest local fashion magazine and showed me this very interesting and colorful publications I recommend to every fashion freak. Bill Phelps: Autodrome at the Robin Rice Gallery

Every gallery opening is a whole different experience. 

Each space is different, sometimes bigger, sometimes smalles, sometimes the curatorship is not as good as other times, sometimes the crowd is old and non-artist, but sometimes the crowd is amazing and very fashionable....mostly sometimes is very special . 

Great conversations emerge in these art-full locations. 

Crazy people and characters of the night. 

The Bill Phelps, Autodrome exhibition  at the Robin Rice Gallery, was specifically different from me because of the fashion worn during the opening . 

The theme of the exhibition was the early european car culture. Most of the people from the crowd were car collectors, bikers, motorcycle collectors, and all related with the automotrice industry. Some, like Adam and his company were fashion photographers who incorporated the theme in their images somehow. 

Nonetheless, the most special character was Kevin (last picture) .

He had a very special  body language, painter, New York born and raised and to me with a great soul I could only notice out of the short time I conversated with him . 

Kevin is one of those special characters I won’t forget... no business card, no exhibited work , my only clue is he painted the interior of “Five Leaves” a great brunch place in Williamsburg.

His last name ? no idea, but at the end of the night, we gave each other a strong and lovely hug. I could feel I would see him another time eventually  and perhaps in less time than 9 and a half years as we talked.
