Alexandria was born to a pretty typical middle class family in LA. Both of her parents had dreams of being actors, however their careers never took off. They both still worked in the industry, her mother a makeup and hairstylist while her father worked as a writer. They weren't exactly strict Catholics, but they did attend church every Sunday. Alex went to most social events and joined the youth group when she was old enough and at seventeen, she met her boyfriend, Jack. Like most teenagers, they fell hard and fast. Spending most of their time together very quickly and about six months into their relationship, she fell pregnant. Lexie hid her pregnancy for as long as she could, but with her tiny frame it wasn't long before people started noticing. Her boyfriend was the person she had to tell first and he broke up with her before she could even tell her family. She was utterly heartbroken. It was a few more weeks before Lexie said anything to her parents. Now Six months pregnant, she confessed in a heated argument after a parent teacher interview that let them know she was failing most of her classes. That's when they kicked her out on the streets. Frightened, with nowhere to go she tied her ex-boyfriend's family first. In tears, she told them everything and they immediately took her in despite his feelings. She spent the last few months of her pregnancy there, her grades improving. As soon as Alexandria's son was born, his family had very different plans for them. She barely got the chance to bond with him and they had taken Noah off her. She had nobody to fight for her, and the police wouldn't help. She ended back up on the streets. Addiction soon followed after that as she'd fallen into such a deep depression, the only thing keeping her alive was the fact she had a son out there who might need her one day. It took three years for her to finally want better for herself. She realized she wasn't going to get him back without stability so she hitched a ride to Aurora Bay, where she now resides. Since being in town, she's got herself a job, a cute little apartment and she's saving every leftover cent she has for legal fees to finally get her son back in her life. Alex knows this will be hard, considering Noah doesn't even know her and she probably hasn't been painted in a very good light, but she knows she can't give up.

But—” Robbie welcomes himself to sitting on the sand near her towel. Cross-legged and facing her, with about a foot and a half distance from her so as to not creep over where she was sunning herself. “—raise enough awareness and they could change things for the better.”

He twists the bag shut and tucks it under his heel so the wind won’t take it away to the ocean, which is arguably way worse than a stray plastic fork in the sand. “No, not stupid at all. Apathetic about the seriousness of this issue, and no, not a protest. Counter-offer: you being the first signature on my petition? Once I get it written and put together.”

Alex taps her forehead, a small smile curving into her pink lips. "See, there's actually a lot of smart things that go on in here." The brunette teases, but she still agrees. "Drunk people don't through their shit in the rubbish. They let it float away and kill the fish." She let her sunglasses fall down the bridge of her nose slightly, sitting up once he sat opposite her, so they could have a better conversation. "I mean, yeah I'll sign it." She shrugged her shoulders, it was for a good cause, not that this was really Lexie's thing. It just made sense in her brain. "I'll even help you pick up rubbish on the beach every now and then but what I said is basically just logic." @robbie-becker

Only a week had passed since Henry's book had been released and he was surprised that sales were doing as well as they were. He knew a part of it was the anonymity with his pen name. Essentially, the author appeared out of nowhere a few years ago. He'd thought about publishing his own book as an indie book, but then a bigger publishing company actually loved it. Seeing his book in the shop was honestly still surreal. "I need a good book rec," he said to the person beside him. The romance section was filled with a bunch of books he was seriously not interested in. "This isn't a genre I read a ton of."

"I don't really read," she said hesitantly, looking at all the books that surrounded them. "Not even that I don't want to, I just don't know what I'd like or where to start, so yeah, No help. For someone who was still relatively new to Aurora Bay, he was quite the regular at the town's coffee shop. They already knew his name and typical order, as well as which small table tucked away in the corner he'd so often retreat to. Today, however, the cafe was more crowded than usual, and in trying to maneuver through the narrow space with a fresh cup of coffee in one hand and a stack of papers tucked under the other arm, Elías misjudged the angle. The corner of the nearby table caught his hip just enough to jolt it, and a splash of the other's drink sloshed out over the lid.

"Oh sh- I'm so sorry, that was completely my fault," he said quickly but sincerely. A quick glance told him that the nudge wasn't enough to make too much of their drink pour out nor did it seem to hit anyone, but it was enough to have him reaching for the nearest napkin right away. "It didn't get on you, did it? I can replace your drink if so... Or even if it didn't, still." A faint and sheepish smile followed as he moved to dab his napkin over the small splash on their table.

"Oop," was all that came from Lexie's mouth as she watched a small puddle of coffee form in the lid of her takeaway latte. She'd been sitting there for hours, nose deep in her laptop researching university applications and what not. So, he'd finally broken her out of her trance, so to speak. "Oh, no you're fine, it's only a tiny bit." She let out a chuckle. "Tell you the truth it's probably gone cold by now." She then finally looked up at him. "It's easy to do that in these places, the tables aren't ever far enough away from each other. I'm always walking into that or a chair." @drvaldes

Tabitha imagines the scene as Alex describes it, chuckling softly at how her friend plots her mother's demise. "I love the creativity but that would mean actually talking to her," which she'd promised herself and some others she wouldn't do. Especially not after the funeral. "I'm not sure I want to give her the satisfaction of that right now." There was a high road and Tabitha always wanted to be on it where her mom was concerned.

Thankful for the change in topic, Tabitha's smile showed all her teeth before she could pull her face into submission. Alex had called it in the bathroom at New Years, she just hadn't wanted to hope for something that seemed so out of reach. "Yeah, we're official. Boyfriend-girlfriend type deal. God, that's such a high school thing to say," she covers her face to hide the faint blush that colored her cheeks.

There was no doubt that the buzzing of her phone was him. "It's kinda a long story, but I guess you were right at New Years. We kissed on the roof and then went home together." Then came the secret affair, one horrible fight followed by a grand romantic gesture at her grandmother's funeral later. Not to mention the roadtrip-kiss-fiasco. A whole lot fit into just a couple of months.

Alex was proud of Tabitha for holding her shit together, she was unsure if she would have been able to do the same thing given the circumstances. She had no choice with her own family, she perhaps that was a good thing or Alex might have gone spinning.

“It is but you’re not old enough to start calling him your partner.” The brunette sticks her tongue out in disgust at the thought. To her it always seemed like older people thing. It wasn’t long before her smile grew wicked at the sight of her fiends cheeks, but she was happy for her truly.

“Oooo,” she looked over at Tabitha, slightly smug that she was right. “I’m really happy for you Tab, you deserve it. You tell him though I’ll hurt him if he fucks you over.” She meant it too. “How’s Theo taking to it? Have you explained things to her yet or no?” @tabithaxking

Roxy felt her heart skip as she walked towards Lexy, the palms of her hands felt sweaty, and she was kind of freaking out. And when Lexy kissed her cheek? She felt butterflies erupt inside her. "Hi. Thank you so much. You look beautiful yourself." She smiled big, and then lexy was giving her a keychain. It was such a simple gesture but it meant so much. Roxy gently took the keychain and cradled in in back hands, smiling down at it. "Thank you. I'm going to keep this forever."

Roxy thought back on her and Liza's conversation earlier that night about how Roxy wanted to kiss her. She should go with her gut, and while Roxy wanted it to be super romantic and memorable, her gut was telling her to kiss her now. "I- Lexy, this is amazing. Uh... can I... May I kiss you? Right now."

Alex was certainly surprised when Roxy said she wanted to kiss her but it was welcomed. She kind of had let Rox take the lead mostly, knowing she was rather anxious she didn’t want to put her foot in it or fuck things up which Alex was very prone to. “Of course you can.” The small brunette answered, but she’d already stepped closer and placed her hand upon the other woman’s cheek.

It was only seconds before their lips were together, Lexie wanted to savor the moment so she made sure it wasn’t just a quick peck. There was definitely a certain amount of passion behind it too. It also felt like a lifetime that Alex had waited to this, so to finally be kissing her felt huge. Her hand pressed against the small of Roxy’s back to pull her closer, just as their mouths parted. The other hand brushing stray strands out of her face. “I think that might have been worth the wait, huh?” @roxdelrosario

"Okay plastic police, you're acting like it's my fork." It certainly wasn't, Alexandria wasn't one to litter, or eat on the beach either. She didn't want sand in her food.

All she'd been doing was laying on a towel enjoying the sunshine until he came along. "You know you should probably complain to the council, doesn't help they have all sorts of events on the beach." And things probably washed in from sea, too. "I thought most takeaway places used wooden cutlery these days but I guess not." @robbie-becker

“I’m sorry, my compassion for this planet we all inhabit can come across harshly.”

Robbie really isn’t all that sorry if his tone has anything to show for it. It doesn’t help that he is making a face of disdain and rolling his eyes while half turned away from her. But all that mockery dissipates at her suggestion, and he voices aloud, for her to hear but to himself, “Maybe I should start a petition about these events and send it in.”

While also becoming the biggest thorn in the council’s side.

“I can’t really commit to eco-terrorism on a student visa, but maybe the more pacifist route can gain some traction. See? You rubbed two brain cells together for me and came up with an idea that can help.”

She could sense the sarcasm, so she just rolled her eyes in response. It wasn’t like she was directly responsible for the litter on the beach and he’d suggestion was right, he should’ve been taking it up with the council.

“You could,” she responded with a shrug of her shoulders. “I don’t know if it’s gonna stop though you know this place loves throwing a big old shindig.” And really, that was an understatement for Aurora Bay; their parties were massive and extensive. There was something new happening every week.

“If you’re insinuating I’m stupid I’ll slap you,” she glared at him, half joking. “Are you gonna drag me along to your protest?” @robbie-becker

"I'll make a mental note," he offers with a grin. "Ohhh confession booth is a great idea. It'll feel like a whole MTV's 'Real World' episo--fuck. You're too young for that reference." He shakes his head, fighting a laugh. "Uh... any other reality show, I guess? I legit don't even know which ones are on air anymore." He cringes slightly at the idea, but nods. "Yeaaaah just... that sort of lifestyle. I'm a fucking coward, though. I can't imagine getting the injections. I'd probably cry, or at least whine a lot." Another nod. "And then you see the botch jobs walking around LA like a fucking nightmare billboard against the procedures, and half the time they're on their way to another appointment anyway." Samir grins at her words, though he's maybe missing the meaning. "Because you wouldn't recognize anybody from all the work they've had done? See that's what social media rabbit holes are for. Plus, then you show up with 'the tea,' as the youth say." He smirks. "Nah, for real, though. I do drink hella water in a day. I don't have whatever water bottle is cool right now--is that still a thing?--but I absolutely drink so much water in a day. Look at this skin..." He holds his hands up to frame his face for half a second, then can't help but laugh at his own ridiculousness. "And absolutely. Gonna be rocking a blinged-out walker." @alexandriaxvargas

“Hm, I only watch Bravo when it comes to reality tv, I kind of lived for Vanderpump Rules and stuff like that so, yeah. I guess too young.” And technically she was too young for Vanderpump Rules too, but she used to watch it late at night sneakily when her parents weren’t awake.

“LA can be truly terrifying in that aspect. Everyone sort of just looks the same now and it’s kinda sad.” She was really lucky she hasn’t fell down that trap, but she’d found other ways for Los Angeles to ruin her life so she wasn’t planning on going back any time soon unless it was to visit her son. “That and the rest of it, high school fucking sucked.” She lets out a laugh.

“Jesus and the old ladies in there would cream over you too.” Alex tells him with a roll of her eyes, it was nothing but the truth and maybe they’d eat him alive. “I think the water bottle thing is still a thing but who does that? Why do we need specified water bottles? I end up using the same plastic one for a month — I know it’s bad. I’m swallowing plastic but I don’t care.” @samirpanchal

Robbie pulls a weathered plastic fork from the sand, wearing a rather placid look for stumbling upon his version of a crime scene.

“Another one,” he mutters, dropping it into his bag with exaggerated disgust. "It's barely the start of the season!" He sifts through and wanders a couple more feet down the boardwalk until he catches what he thinks is someone watching him.

“Let me guess — just observing? Most people do as plastic pollutes everything.”

Tabitha looks up from her phone as Alex launches into her interrogation. The device is placed gently to the side of her, a few incessant buzzing vibrating the couch as soon as her eyes are no longer glued to it. "I'm fine," she replies in an automatic fashion, before thinking better of it. As her best friend so aptly put it, she could see right through. "Mostly fine," she adds. "As fine as I can be, I guess." It was all highs and lows lately, but Tab was determined to take it as it came.

"Mom's still here. Haven't seen her since the funeral though." And thank god for that. Her grandad had seen her a few times for the typical things. A sob story and whatever cash he had lying around. "I'm trying to focus on the good shit.. like me and Keo." She bites her lip, waiting for Alex's reaction to her confession.

“You know what we could do,” she contemplates, her head tilting to the side. “We could take your mom some pasta from work and put laxatives in it, maybe the equivalent to bowel prep.” It was evil, and cunning but not severe enough to do much damage. “Tell her it’s a peace offering.” Although she isn’t serious, Alex hoped she at least cracks a laugh out of her best friend. It was good she hadn’t bugged her, though she wondered how long that would last.

At the mention of Keo, the brunette’s eyebrows raised and she settled back into the couch to get comfier. “Told you he was into you,” she couldn’t wait to get it out. “Are you guys official? Is that him now??” Her eyebrows motion to the buzzing phone. “You gotta tell me everything.” @tabithaxking

“Oh my gosh look at that! You are just all covered in starfish. I don’t know exactly if they’re a fish but they’re my favorite sea animal or creature or whatever they are.” Gwen was certain almost every sea creature was her favorite but she did have a soft spot for starfish and seahorses. “Well if you need a starfish at all tonight for little affirmations I can do that. You do look very pretty.” She couldn’t help her smile getting bigger at the compliment now directed at her. “Why thank you. My daughter is just about in her full blown Ariel phase now that it’s pretty much summer time. So when I told her the theme she said I had to go as Ariel. This is the compromise we’ve come up with as I swear it looks very similar to her sparkle dress coming out of the water.” She probably sounded like a broken record with how much she talked about her daughter’s influence on her outfit. But it was a key part so to her it needed to be known.

"Starfish and seahorses are where it's at. Oh, and dolphins." Alex is quick to add, as if the dolphins would be offended she didn't mention them. "I'm also partial to a penguin." At this point she was just thinking out loud, calming down from the crowded gymnasium. A bright smile was brought to the brunette's face as the other complimented her. "Thank you," she chuckled, turning her full attention to Gwen to listen to the story. "That's really freaking cute, I'm guessing she was satisfied itht he outcome?" Though she wasn't with her son, at all really, she still classed herself as a mom so she related. She would have done anything to keep Noah happy even if it was something like plan an outfit around what he wanted.

"Yeah, pretty much." Alex answered with a small laugh, she didn't know where Roxy was at this very moment either. But she needed a breather. "I do this at every event. Think my social meter can handle it then need to rest for like, a month afterwards. Then there's something else on." @gwen-moreno

It would probably be weird as shit to attend something like this at my old high school..." Samir gives a thoughtful pause. "They might have needed a therapy booth to go along with the photo booth." His eyes stay on her and he fights a laugh at the Botox comment, shaking his head. "Girl, you got yeeeeears before you need to touch that shit--and I mean... Nobody needs to. But, like... yeah. If you want to, by all means. I'm from LA so like... people were getting that gifted as a graduation present and shit. My best advice is stay hydrated. All the time. Water is important." Not that she was asking for his advice... He quickly catches himself. "Sorry. And hey. I am hella down for Bingo night at the nursing home. Imma tear that place up." @alexandriaxvargas

"You might need to pitch that for next year," And she was being dead serious too, she couldn't imagine going back to visit her old high school either and if she did she'd definitely need that therapy booth more than she needed a photobooth. "Confession booth as well?" She then added as a joke. "Me too," Alex tells him with a nod of her head, she was no stranger to plastic surgery, or filler or, botox. "Half the girls at my high school had their lips full of filler before they turned 18. It was kind of like a rite of passage." She hadn't touched the stuff, she wasn't as rich as her classmates anyway. "And that's probably why if they pulled this sort of shit at my high school I wouldn't go back." That was only one reason, really. "So that's your secret huh? Hydration, but you're still ready to go cause some chaos at the nursing home?" @samirpanchal
