Sauvage Sauvage Gordes || Emmerich, Alice, Oliver & Eric.
Sure you could of gotten it, the expression on his face clearly read. Emmerich was very sure that Alice did not believe a word she herself just said. Rapunzel? Really Alice. “How long were you working on that one?” he teased. “And Talls from before? What is going on with all this wit. I think you’re around me too much.” Emmerich noted as he watched Alice’s attempt to get atop the horse. They may not have time for this but he didn’t have the heart to help little miss independent just yet. “Stop trying to mimic my ingeniousness” he faked warned her during her apparent breather on the saddle. The nineteen year-old took her silence and current position as an ‘I give up’. He gladly moved forward and gave Alice the extra push to get seated on the saddle. “What…no thank you?” he smiled innocently. Alice was lucky he wasn’t laughing at her right now. Because, if she kept these antics up, his stomach muscles would be ripped by the end of this excursion.
Leaving Alice to her own musings Emmerich returned to the rack once again. After selecting a saddle he randomly chose a horse by the infamous age old method —eenie meenie minie mo. “there we go” he announced having found his trusty steed. The brunet set up the saddle and climbed aboard. His horse jerked forward a bit. “Relax there eager beaver” Emmerich took up the reigns. “Ready to go Smalls?” he asked looking over at her. The horse beneath him seemed as excited as them to get this shown on the road and had already started off in a light trot. “Try and keep up will you” he teased over his shoulder. Out of the stables the wide open fields stood before them. Well, time to make this worth it. Emmerich lightly dug his heels into the horses’ sides, indicating he wished for the pace to increase.
Struggling with the gust of strength given to her, Alice gripped the horse's neck tightly to prevent her daunting fall. "Lay off the steroids, Em," she mumbled, ruefully allowing him to situate her position on the steed. Huffing and puffing from her now vertical mount, she cast her wide eyes down at Emmerich. "Ingeniusness? Please, Emmy, don't kid yourself. People like me just don't sprout up overnight, I mean it's been taken you years to be worthy of my presence and I'm still unsure if you're deserving," she exhaled, pushing a strand of fallen hair out of her sight. Her gratitude towards his aide was being prolonged on the case of her pride, and the fair haired girl would do anything her her power to stall it. "Oh come on, I had to! 'Cause you're, you know, tall..." Her voice faltered at the end of the sentence as Alice caught his boyish grin, no doubt demanding a 'thank you' for his service. "Thanks for what? I totally did that on my own!" she proclaimed.
Once his back was turned, she let out a prideful "Merci," under her breath. Alice couldn't allow herself to say it to his face. Distracting herself with the stallion beneath her, she tried not to pay much attention to Emmerich, who would surely be able to climb aboard without assistance. Looking up just in time to catch his mount, she rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue. "Show off!" Inching her horse forward, Alice managed to emerge from the stall and meet up with the boy in the middle of the stables. "Smalls? Parfait! We really are like partners in crime, Talls!" At his comment, she scowled and urged her horse onward, only slightly startled by the movement beneath her. "Woah, go horsey, go!" Trying all she could to get moving, the petite girl patted its fur in hopes of passing Emmerich. "Come on!" she cried exasperatedly, unknowingly kicking the horse in the leg. Without warning, the beast sped off toward the horizon and Alice let out a yelp of surprise, clutching anything she could to stay on. "Ha! Take lessons from the master!" Her stunned voice called out as she passed her friend, still fighting for control.
I can't sleep.
Oh Alice, do I have a fan? I say go for it. I’d give anything paint my walls with all the lovely things people say.
Now that I have your blessing, nothing could possibly hold me back in this world, Genevieve. I feel truly honored.
It's a good idea, though. Sadly, I don't think my attention span would last it out.
I can't sleep.
I should’ve held onto you longer. When will you learn Ali? Tsk tsk.
Yeah right! Any longer and I would have broken your neck! That was a pity retreat!
I can't sleep.
Not in your vocabulary…fine. Here we go again.
How about now?
Talls! Let gooo-
Ergh, fine! I tap out, I tap out! Let me up, Emmerich!
I can't sleep.
Apparently not enough, because I just did. Non! Oh please, punish-…Oof! Nice try Pipsqueak. Stop! Wh-…what ar-…haha are you doing! Noogies! You’ve been asking for it.
Now will you behave?
I'm be- ugh, beating you up! Uff, you're heavy! Nooo, not the noogies!
Ugh, no! Behave is, oof, not in my v-vocabulary!
Sauvage Sauvage Gordes || Emmerich, Alice, Oliver & Eric.
Emmerich’s eyes flared open with a myriad of emotions. The most powerful being anger. Drover hit Alice or any girl for that fact; he may as well have lost his mind if that would happen. Sure, she was a little rough around the edges, but that had been Alice from as long as he could remember. The laughing seemed to be running on an endless reel amongst the two. Yet again he laughed. Her spectacular news headline, to the idea of her being a reporter. Knowing her true nature only made it all the more hilarious. At Alice’s prompting for him to skip Emmerich rolled his eyes, then looked up at the sky. Why me he mouthed, but broke into a wide grin nonetheless.
“Uh huh…whatever makes you sleep at night Ali” he murmured distractedly. As if she could ever manage to outrun him. I want this one? The brunet tore his attention away from the first horse he saw when he entered. An eyebrow shot up to assess the seriousness of Alice’s announcement. He chuckled. “We aren’t at the mall picking out a dress” he chastised. “Don’t hurt yourself” he commented walking over to her aide her with the latch. The antics he witnessed from her reminded him of playing keep-away for some odd reason. Releasing the latch the nineteen year old stepped back to allow her to enter. “Crap! Saddles” he ran his hands through his hair. Emmerich didn’t think so far ahead in this ingenious plan. Why didn’t Oliver have saddles on the horses already. That’s right; because he didn’t expect them to be stolen, nor is this the Wild Wild West. “Those things usually take a while to set up” he stared aimlessly at a spot on the ground for a moment. Did they even have time, technically everything seemed to be quiet. Maybe Oliver wasn’t home to begin with. They’d made it this far, why not push their luck a bit further. “Okay, saddles it is!” he decided, quickly moving to the free standing rack.
He returned with a saddle for her, it should work, not that they had time to fit things properly. Entering the stall, he strapped on the saddle, the horse behaved it self for the most part. “Okay, up you go, climb aboard” his left hand pointed to the stirrup.
At the mention of a mall, an exasperated scowl crossed the troublemaker's features. "You've got to be kidding me, Talls! Since when have I ever gone to such a place?" It pained the fair haired sprite to be even slightly similar to any of those makeup guzzling beauty queens, for they were everything she never was. Alice was just another boy and that's all she'd probably ever be, whether she likes it or not. "I wont hurt myself, Emmy," she protested as her nimble fingers struggle to release the heavy metal, but soon her attempts were cut short by the assist from the boy. As Emmerich helped her open the massive latch, she watched with her tiny hands on her hips and a defiant smirk on her lips. "I could have gotten that, you know! I was really close! " It was obviously a lie, but she was never a girl to grow accustomed to people at her rescue. Directing her attention to the stallion the stubborn lock denied her the chance to free, Alice smiled softly at the creature. "Yes, Rapunzel, saddles," she giggled, watching him bury his hands in those dark tresses.
Her amethyst eyes followed Emmerich as he turned towards the rack of horse decorations, so she called them. Once again, Alice stood idly by as he situated the saddle on her steed firmly. The athletic pixie always thought she could do everything perfectly on her own, but whenever her equally self-satisfied friend came along, he always seemed to take the reins - quite literally now. Of course there was no earthly way she could have hoisted that gigantic piece of leather onto the ever larger mammal, but she wanted him to think she could. It was Alice's last desire to be depicted as weak in front of Emmerich, or anyone at all for that matter. All her nineteen years she's been independent and free like a bird, and there was something inside her that just couldn't admit to needing help; no matter how desperately and sorely vital. Following his hand towards the direction of the foot hole, Alice pushed her shoulders back and moved forward.
Climbing aboard the horse proved to be quite the difficult task. The tiny thing could hardly reach the joystick - it looked like something from a video game, okay - much less pull herself up. "I've got this," she grunted stubbornly, fumbling to clutch the equipment. As minuscule as she may be, Alice was plenty strong, and she managed to lay her stomach out on the saddle taking "a breather". Surrendering to the assist she knew would come, she then was able to pull her leg off the other side and sit up triumphantly.
I can't sleep.
Oh how you flatter me pipsqueak. Laugh it up Dubois. And it shows how much you do know about me; I don’t want a car, I want a motorbike. Terrifying Ha! The least I can do is applaud you for entertaining me. Here you go, revel in your five minutes of Emme-fame.
EMMY! How many times have I told you not to call me 'pipsqueak'?!? Oh, ferme ta gueule! You know the only person who knows you better than I do is Genevieve! I swear to God, Emmerich you are testing me! Alright, that's it! If you're going to mock me, I'll have to enforce physical, um, punishment!
