he had such a good relationship with her🥺
she was his only mother figure in his life
she’s the one that had the idea of taking dally in when the curtis family found him in the lot when dal first got here.
she’s the one that got him his brown leather jacket
dally would only let her cut his hair
he really doesn’t listen to anyone, but if there was someone he would listen to the most it would be mrs. curtis.
she was all he ever wanted in a mom
she would bake dally cakes and make sure he at least went to school sometimes.
she had no problem letting him stay on the couch as long as he wanted since he was pretty much homeless.
she made sure the 3 boys treated him well
mrs. curtis would buy him clothes even though dally insisted that she didn’t
tried her best to keep dally out of trouble, and it actually worked sometimes.
she’s literally his mom like.
she actually can understand him and his actions sometimes.
she’s probably the person that knows the most about his past than anyone else.
if it weren’t for her, dallas would probably not be part of the gang.
would always patch him up after a fight.
TRIED to teach him how to treat girls right and he kinda just tuned her out. but he did listen to some things like never to cheat which i SAY he never has never will on a girl.
never allowed him to smoke or drink in her house though.
made sure dally was always fed and bathed.
out of all the boys except her sons ofc she took care of dally the most considering he had nobody and nothing. also johnny’s parents weren’t so bad at this time.
as dally got older she took care of him less and less and he found a place to stay at bucks.
she didn’t think it was a good idea but let him make the decision.
she cares for him like he’s her son and dally cares for her like she’s his mom.
mrs. curtis didn’t see him as some no good hood and a jd like everyone else first did.
she just saw him as a boy that was beaten down by the world repeatedly.
when both mr and mrs. curtis died dally just felt numb again.
once again someone left him and he didn’t know what to do.
after the funereal he went out and did so many reckless things that got him jailed.
he refused to let any of the boys bail him out though, he wanted to stay in there.
he felt broken again and it hurt him a lot, but he refused to ever show it or even admit it to himself.
