@alt-sequoia
jordy-ballard:
It was a little surprising, but Jordy had to admit, it was attractive as hell. âNo worries,â he replied with a smile, one that was more genuine than he wanted to admit. âIâm just a couple blocks this way,â he said with a knod to the left, stepping off that way. It was clear how many glances he was stealing at Sequoia, not even bothering to hide it.
Sequoia let the rain drip off the brim of his hat, every so often tilting his head back so the drops would fall on his face. âChill.â He responded following along beside the liquor store stranger who happened to live in the opposite direction of Sequoia. Maybe this liquor store would become some halfway point where theyâd run into each other âaccidentallyâ. Sequoiaâs mind was whirring with possibilities as a small smile fixed itself to his lips.
jordy-ballard:
Jordy waved off the mention of payment, not concerned whatsoever. Honestly, as badly as he wanted Sequoia, heâd buy an entire case of liquor. Pausing at the door, Jordy lifted the hood of his jacket up. He slipped the umbrella from his wrist and pushed the door open just enough to pop the umbrella into place. He hooked his other hand through the loop of the bag and gestured for Sequoia to go ahead. âAfter you,â he said, just barely loud enough to be heard over the rain.
Sequoia held his bag in his arms as if her were carrying a toddler. He was still slightly confused by the gestures, but at the same time, not at all opposed. He stepped out into the rain, completely avoiding the umbrella. It wasnât in an effort to be rude, Sequoia just truly loved the rain. âThanks anyways.â he mused, so as to not seem rude. âRain is my favorite.â He mused more to himself than aloud.
jordy-ballard:
Jordy turned around briefly, eyeing Sequoiaâs choices. âGood job, you take direction well.â He pulled the two bottles from Sequoiaâs hands and placed them on the counter as well. âBag these two separately, please. Thanks.â He couldnât help himself, giving the employee a wink. Patiently, Jordy tapped his card on the counter a couple times before swiping it. The employee finished bagging the alcohol as he signed the bill. âYou have a great night, Amber.â Turning back to Sequoia, Jordy offered him his bag. âShall we?â
âI can-â Sequoia stopped and his brow furrowed. âPay for that myself.â Sequoia dug his hands back into his pockets as he watched Jordy do his business with the cashier. I take direction well? Was that supposed to be an innuendo? He wasnât quite sure what was happening here. Was this some sort of charity? Or did this guy really just want to get the hell out of the liquor store. âWe shall?â Sequoia reached out to grab the bag from Jordy. âThanks.â His eyes squinted and he headed towards the door, still raining something awful outside.

jordy-ballard:
âMake it quick,â Jordy said with a wink, giving Sequoiaâs hip a tug toward his body. Jordy let his lips crash against the otherâs quickly, the desire evident. When he finally pulled back, he let go of Sequoia and took a few steps backward before turning to make one last stop. By the time he was at the counter, Jordy was settling three good-sized bottles into place and pulling his wallet out. His eyes kept scanning the store, barely able to focus on small talk with the cashier who recognized him. âHmm?â he said, glancing back at the girl whoâd just asked him a question. âOh, yes, found everything very easily. As always, a successful trip.â
If the kiss was any indication of the events to follow, Sequoia was on board. Slightly surprising, but good. Real good. Sequoia plucked a bottle of Jameson from the shelf. quickly grabbing what heâd come in for as well and headed to the counter. He stood in line behind Jordy, holding the bottles like twin babes in his arms waiting to purchase them. He laughed a little to himself at Jordyâs obvious eagerness toward the cashier.
jordy-ballard:
âSomething tells me I donât need help with you,â Jordy replied, his hand moving out to Sequoiaâs hip. He let his hand rest there, but his thumb was already moving up and down against his clothing. âGrab a bottle of Jameson and meet me at the counter so we can get the hell out of here.â
If Sequoia was unsure before, the gesture from the man that stood before him was enough to prove that he was right in his assumptions. âYou got it.â He muttered low, not wanting to be the first to move.
jordy-ballard:
Jordy shifted, his feet inching closer to Sequoia as he lowered his gaze to the smirking lips. âI guess, technically, âall partiesâ is more honest, but Iâm not in the mood to share you right now.â It was a bit of a risk, but he had a feeling this wouldnât blow up in his face. If it did, he had a few people he could call up to remedy things⊠But this guy seemed interested, even if only barely.
Sequoia would have to be daft to not realize what was happening now, and to be honest he was buying what this guy was selling. Sequoiaâs tiny smirk shifted to more of a smile. It wasnât that he hadnât gotten laid recently, but heâd been working too much to find time lately, so now that the opportunity was sort of presenting itself, Sequoia was kinda lonely, and he had a free evening, who was he to argue? âWho said anything about sharing?â
jordy-ballard:
Jordy couldnât help himself, eyes following Sequoiaâs hand. This part, the playful back and forth where he had to hold himself back was an absolute nightmare. âI never said I wasnât dangerous,â Jordy replied, his voice deeper with hunger. âIâm far from harmless, but thatâs usually a good thing for both parties involved.â
Eyebrows lifting, Sequoia was admittedly surprised at the otherâs comment. Not because of what was said, but moreso in trying to decipher what exactly the meaning was behind it. A low laugh came from Sequoia as he dug his hands into his pockets. âBoth parties eh?â The lightbulb above Sequoiaâs head was slowly starting to flicker as he began to understand what was happening here. A smirk fixed on his lips.
palermoviv:
âGod bless twitter, itâs a magical place. And also the actual worst, which is what happens when more than 2 people are on any one social media, I guess. Iâll definitely follow, though, anything to know where the good restaurants are.â Viv chewed her lip for a second at the question, eyes scanning the shelves as though that would somehow help her remember the entire library inventory. âYes, but also that depends on what kind of anthology youâre wanting. Poetry, short stories, essays, columns? Or any combination of those, I think we have some that are arranged by topic rather than author somewhere in literature.â
Sequoia nodded in agreement at her social media commentary. He was only on social media for his business, but he understood the issues with it. Sequoia followed her gaze as her eyes seemingly searched the library. âI was wondering if you had a National Geographic Photo anthology.â He paused for a moment. âIâm not actually sure anything like that exists, but if it does, do you have a copy here?â
jordy-ballard:
âI wonât let it happen again,â Jordy replied, sinking his teeth into his bottom lip again. Looking the man over one more time, Jordy cocked his head to the side. âItâs Jordy, and come on, Iâm way too pretty to be a serial killer.â
Removing his hat, Sequoia raked his hand through his shoulder-length locks before placing it back on his head. âJordy.â He repeated. âThe pretty ones are the ones you have to keep an eye on. Theyâre usually more dangerous.â A smile pulled at his lips.
jordy-ballard:
âI wasnât exactly clear that it was one,â he replied with a smirk. âI was thinking,â he said, âwhat if I buy you a bottle of Jameson in return for your help, and you come over to my place to drink for a bit?â
âGotta be clearer next time.â Sequoia shook his head, a face of mock disappointment. âHmm.â He began to contemplate. âAnd how do I know youâre not some sort of serial killer? I donât even know your name.â
jordy-ballard:
âJameson, I like it,â he replied, licking his lips slowly. âIâm an equal opportunity drinker, really. Not one to discriminate, as long as itâs quality.â
Gnawing on the inside of his cheek, taking an opportunity to look the man up snd down, not worrying too much about whether or not he was making it obvious. âWell I didnât know that was an option.â The corner of his mouth curled, and Sequoia crossed his arms over his frame.
jordy-ballard:
âWhat can I say? I like to misbehave and make bad decisions.â Jordyâs teeth sank down into his bottom lip as he watched Sequoia laugh, eyes locked on the lips of the other man. âWhatâs your poison of choice?â
A small smirk appeared on Sequoiaâs lips as he hard Jordyâs confession. âMy poison of choice?â Sequoia thought for a second, âIâd probably say Jameson is my go to. Yours?â He took a moment to take in the man before him. Attractive. Probably straight, but one never really knew nowadays.
jordy-ballard:
âI think the ones shooting for the tax break are the type to pull some New Yearâs Eve wedding shit,â he noted, extending his arm out to rest on the top of the shelf to his right. âThose are never as fun as they want them to be, because New Yearâs Eve is for getting shitfaced, and apparently itâs bad form to be hitting on the preacher before the ceremony.â Jordy rolled his eyes, stealing another glance at the other man. âIâm Jordy, by the way, and forever indebted to you for saving me some much needed time trying to get my brain working.â
âI donât get holiday weddings in general.â Sequoia shook his head. âI mean, youâre basically asking your guests to uproot whatever their normal plans for that holiday are, and Iâm sure some of them are okay with it, but itâs pretty damn inconsiderate if you ask me.â He grabbed a random bottle off the shelf and read the label, wincing before immediately putting it back on the shelf. âHitting on the preacher? Well, might be frowned upon by some, but whereâs the fun in that?â A short laugh fell from his lips as he grabbed at another random bottle. âSequoia, and anytime man. Proud to aide someone in shitty liquor selections.â
