Your Royal Highness, I do have a question for you: You ever get the feeling like you're being watched? You should. It gets boring waiting on Doctor Noise and I need something to do to amuse myself... And you know what? Sometimes I see you crying, when you think no one's listening, and I can't help but wonder to myself: what would your 'people' think if they knew what a cry baby their monarch is? “Fine, speak up. But do make it quick; I have better things to do.”
Crossing their arms, Chara breathed out and closed their eyes before looking over at Alternate, their bored visage quickly growing angered { and rather surprised } as he continued to speak, clenching their fists and sighing deeply when the other had finished his little speech.
They couldn’t say it didn’t feel like they were being watched. It was quite obvious to them that it always felt like they weren’t alone.
“… you must have quite a lot of courage if you just waltz in here and then have the nerve to say that out loud, you know?”
Tapping their heel against the floor, they slowly shook their head in disapproval before shrugging, smugly smiling at the specter in front of them.
“Now then. Do you bring anything of importance, or must I listen to your inane mumbling?”
“Courage has very little to do with it,” He replied with a shrug. “ When all else fails you fall back on that last and most sacred refuge of incompetent leadership, violence, to remain dominant. But I cannot be harmed so there’s nothing courageous about giving voice to the thoughts and feelings those who can be harmed are too afraid to say.”
He paused and crossed his arms over his chest, grinning cruelly.
“But back to the matter at hand, I had a question and thus far you’ve given me only an evasion. Why not give a proper answer hmm? Or are you so afraid to acknowledge your own emotions?”
