Evil Dead Rise’s original motion picture soundtrack is available on vinyl for $40 via Waxwork Records. Shipping in July, the score is composed by Stephen McKeon (The Hole in the Ground, Black Mirror).

The 2xLP album is pressed on 180-gram “Deadite & Blood” colored vinyl. It’s housed in a gatefold jacket featuring artwork by Steve Reeves, built-in Necronomicon pages, and printed inner sleeves.

Honestly, I can't express how happy it made me when I got home from watching Evil Dead Rise (great fucking movie) and realised Morgan Davies who played Danny is trans. It was so fucking cool to see a trans actor in a mainstream horror movie - not to mention the fact his character was allowed to just be without them making his transness a big deal. It made me feel so seen and excited and pumped up as a trans Evil Dead fan. He did such an amazing job - I loved Danny sm.

I’m serious. the broken down building at its last leg, built on top of old money. the fact that it’s on the top floor and there is no escape. the willfulness of the children bringing ruin. the revenant mother who doesn’t want to be a mother anymore. the absent father, the family torn apart by an unknowable, chaotic, destructive force (i.e. heathcliff). the only survivors of the rampage being who they were. the devouring trinity. the ghost calling to be let in!!!!!

this movie was more in the spirit of wuthering heights than any failure focusing on the “tragic romance” is2g
